The Genius Workshop

The Genius Workshop Founded in 2004, The Genius Workshop is a STEM learning center originated from Canada. We focus on the development and delivery of S.T.E.M.

We currently run 19 centers across Hong Kong and Greater China, and we also partner with 17 kindergartens and primary schools in STEM-related teaching. The Genius Workshop is a learning institution rooted from Canada and established in Hong Kong in 2004. Education curriculum to children aged 3 to 14 in both academic and non-academic settings. Since 2004, we have expanded our branches to Shanghai, China, and up to 2020, we have 16 branches stretching across the Greater China area. Our proven curriculum has been successfully delivered to thousands of children across Canada, Hong Kong, Shanghai, the United States, Singapore, Malaysia and Korea. We take pride in our commitment to developing the finest technological and scientific programs for children.

不止是獎項，更是成長的見證

Placed together, these awards tell a story far bigger than one competition weekend.

At this year’s FIRST® LEGO® League Hong Kong, TGW students received recognition across the Discover, Explore and Challenge divisions—for their engineering, innovative solutions, creativity, presentations and teamwork.

We are incredibly proud of their outstanding performance. But we are even prouder of the determination behind every achievement.

Every award represents countless moments of designing, coding, testing, rebuilding and trying again. It represents students learning to listen to one another, explain their ideas confidently and remain resilient when things do not work as expected.

Our next competition teams will begin in the same place: our regular TGW classrooms.

In early 2027, our instructors will identify outstanding students from TGW’s regular STEM programmes who demonstrate strong technical progress, creativity, teamwork, perseverance and readiness for a greater challenge. Selected students will be invited to represent The Genius Workshop in a variety of STEM competitions in 2027.

Not every student begins as a confident engineer or programmer. But with the right opportunities, encouragement and commitment, extraordinary progress can begin with an ordinary class.

We cannot wait to see what our young innovators will be achieving in the coming year!

不是每個孩子一開始便充滿自信，也不是每個學生起初便懂得機械人或編程。但只要得到適當的機會、鼓勵和培養，非凡的成長往往就從一堂普通的課開始。

The future will demand more than knowing how to use technology — students will need to know how to think with it, build with it, question it, and use it to solve real problems.

This summer, our Sr. STEM students have been developing exactly these skills through robotics, coding, AI, game development, engineering, and design challenges.

They learned to design systems, code with purpose, test and improve ideas, use AI creatively, solve problems, and communicate their thinking with confidence.

As technology continues to transform how we live and work, these are no longer “extra” skills — they are becoming essential foundations for the next generation.

1. Thinking Beyond Building — Designing Complete Systems

Across our Sr. STEM Camps, students moved beyond simply making models. They explored how different parts of a system work together — from football robots that need speed, control, and striking power, to space rovers that rely on sensors and movement, to smart supermarkets that combine robotics, apps, and AI.

Students learned to think like young engineers: not just “Can it work?” but “How can it work better?”

2. Using AI as a Creative and Practical Assistant

This summer, students experienced AI as more than a novelty. They used AI tools to create team identities, game covers, app visuals, supermarket branding, background music, and promotional materials.

More importantly, they learned how to communicate ideas clearly, refine prompts, evaluate results, and improve their work — developing the kind of AI literacy that will become increasingly important for the next generation.

3. Testing, Improving, and Learning Through Iteration

A key part of advanced STEM learning is understanding that the first version is rarely the final version.

Students tested robot performance, debugged game mechanics, adjusted designs, refined app ideas, and improved their strategies based on results.

6 Skills Children Built Through Hands-On STEM This Summer ☀️

At TGW’s Jr. STEM Camps, our young learners have been building, experimenting, coding, presenting, laughing, asking questions, and discovering what they are capable of.

From exploring the human body in Hospital Science, testing race car designs in Formula Racer, creating superhero stories with coding, building digital adventures with AI, to presenting their World Cup projects to parents — every activity is designed to help children learn through doing.

For children aged 4.5–7, STEM is not about complicated theories. It is about curiosity, confidence, creativity, communication, and learning how to solve problems step by step.

At TGW’s Jr. STEM Camps, our young learners have been building, experimenting, coding, presenting, laughing, asking questions, and discovering what they are capable of.
