HKU Demo Day: Cross-Border & Go Beyond! 🎇

On June 12, in collaboration with HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Academy and supported by HKU Business School & its South China Alumni Network, we hosted HKU Demo Day in Qianhai, Shenzhen.

With experienced judges and mentors guiding the startups, the event served as a dynamic platform connecting breakthrough research and innovative businesses with top venture capitalists and industry leaders. 🤝

Highlighting 14 HKU startup projects across Advanced Technology and Healthcare, the showcase featured interactive booths, dynamic pitching, and vibrant networking. Every team showcased technical strengths and the immense passion of their founding teams. 💡

⚙️ Outstanding Presentation Awards | Advanced Technology:

🏆 Champion: InterLitho Innovation Limited
Led by Prof. Wendi Li, they utilize laser interference lithography and nanoimprint technology to independently develop the world's first laser interference nanolithography equipment, providing comprehensive micro- and nanomanufacturing solutions.

🥈 1st Runner-up: MattVerse Limited
Led by Dr. Shuguang Chen, MattVerse features a Battery Design Automation (BDA) platform for the new energy industry. Integrating AI, quantum chemistry, and multi-scale modeling, BDA enables end-to-end digitalization across materials discovery and cell design.

⚕️ Outstanding Presentation Awards | Healthcare:

🏆 Champion: C2iVax Limited
Led by Prof. Leo P**n & Dr. Alex Chin, this venture introduces platforms to develop a broadly protective live-attenuated vaccine against human and avian influenza, aiming to eliminate annual vaccine updates.

🥈 1st Runner-up: Oncoimmunostics Limited
Led by Prof. Nancy Man, they present "Liver-In-Cube," a novel drug screening platform reconstituting patient-specific tumor microenvironments, combining advanced 3D bioprinting with new bioinks containing patient-specific cells, proteins, and immune profiles.

We had an incredible turnout this morning at Tam Wing Fan Inno Wing Two for the Cyberport AI Services & AI Subsidy Scheme Introductory Session!
