“This journey not only broadened my academic horizons in hospitality but also pushed me to grow personally through new challenges and cultural immersion. One of the most valuable aspects was adapting to a different learning environment. Moving from a more structured system to one that emphasized self-directed learning was initially overwhelming, but it encouraged me to actively seek support, engage in discussions, and collaborate with classmates. Through group projects and interactive classes, I developed stronger teamwork and communication skills. Beyond academics, adjusting to life in Canada came with its own challenges. Experiencing winter was new to me. I learned to take care of my well-being by exploring nature, going on walks by the river, and spending time outdoors.”
