Earlier this May, we were delighted to host an inspiring Parent Workshop exclusively for our founding families on “How to Prepare Your Children for a Bilingual and Bicultural Education.” 🌱

It was deeply rewarding to see our parents engage so enthusiastically in interactive activities and discussions, exploring how to nurture deep roots for long-term language success.

We were honoured to welcome two exceptional leaders from YK Pao School Shanghai — Ms. Crick Chen, Primary Deputy Principal, and Ms. Mohoney Jiang, Primary Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning — who shared their extensive expertise in bilingual pedagogy, home–school collaboration, and practical frameworks to help parents build a rich language environment at home.

At Kowloon East, our students are beginning to experience an environment that matches the rigour of our academic programme📖. Looking toward the future, our Kowloon Tong Campus (scheduled for completion in June 2028) will take our "Whole-Person"📚 mission even further. Newly released renderings reveal a sophisticated design featuring a Central Courtyard, state-of-the-art specialist facilities, and green integration. We are excited to announce the outstanding university entrance achievements of our class of 2026 YK Pao School Shanghai students! For our Academic and Admissions Coordinator, Cathy Chen, education is a journey of walking alongside students with care, clarity, and purpose. With over 13 years of experience in Hong Kong’s leading bilingual schools, Cathy brings not only educational expertise, but also the strategic perspective needed to build a strong, values-driven school community. Her professional background is grounded in an IB Educator Certificate, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, a Master of Literature, and recognised teaching qualifications in Hong Kong.

Drawing inspiration from the traditional Chinese concept of "Round heaven and square earth (天圓地方)", Cathy sees education as the meeting point of imagination and structure, warmth and rigour, inspiration and scholarship.

Beyond her credentials, Cathy's philosophy emphasises the transformative power of bilingual education, viewing language learning as a connection through shared ideas and experiences. Shaped by her journey as both an educator and lifelong learner, she believes that language fosters understanding and belonging, as reflected in her passions for mastering new skills every year—ranging from badminton umpiring and learning Cantonese to joining an international violin ensemble. Cathy embodies the philosophy she brings to our school: that learning takes root where interest, participation, and genuine human connection intersect, keeping her attuned to the joy, challenges, and transformations that students encounter in their own journeys.

With over a decade of experience in educational philanthropy, focusing on fundraising, stakeholder engagement, alumni relations and strategic communications, Venice plays a key role in cultivating the partnerships and resources that advance the School’s mission.

From 2014 to 2018, during her time with the YK Pao School Shanghai Foundation Office, Venice witnessed the school’s growth into a leading bilingual institution and celebrated its first graduating cohort. After returning to Hong Kong, Venice continued her work in educational advancement at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), collaborating with organisations like The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Morningside Foundation, and contributing to initiatives that enhanced teaching and student experience. Now, as Deputy Director of Development at YK Pao School Hong Kong, she works closely with our leadership team to create effective advancement strategies that align with the School’s long-term vision.

Venice holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Communication (with distinction) and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Spanish, both from CUHK. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring museums, indulging in gelato, and spending time outdoors with her family. ✨

Her previous tenure as Regional Marketing and Communications Director for AISL Harrow Schools provided her with extensive experience in establishing new educational foundations across Asia.
