🚨 DON’T LET “HELPFUL” CALLS FOOL YOU! 🚨

Even highly educated, high-income professionals are falling prey to the latest “highly sophisticated” pretend official scam. Recently, a local doctor lost HK$1.49 Million to this precise trap.

The scammers aren’t just calling anymore—they are showing up at doorsteps with forged documents to make the scam feel 100% real.

⚠️ WATCH OUT FOR THE 4 DEADLY SCRIPT ELEMENTS:
1️⃣ The “Helpful” Setup: A fake courier warns you about identity theft.
2️⃣ Reality Blending: In-person visits with forged official papers.
3️⃣ Layered Escalation: Shifting roles from courier ➡️ police ➡️ prosecutor.
4️⃣ Force Isolation: Demanding you delete chat history so you can’t get help.

[From Grass Clippings to Leather: A Lesson in Sustainable Innovation]

At the recent Vegan Leather Making Workshop, F.3–F.5 secondary school students learned how ordinary backyard waste can be upcycled into functional, sustainable leather. From understanding the WHY in the lecture to witnessing the HOW in the lab, each participant gained a deeper understanding of the circular economy and had the hands-on opportunity to craft their own keychain — a tangible memento of how innovation can breathe new life into what we often discard.

Organized by the School of Humanities and Social Science and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, the workshop showcased the diversity of its participants. It was not reserved for science enthusiasts alone; secondary school students sat alongside university peers from non-science backgrounds, all united by curiosity and a shared willingness to create change. The message was clear: Sustainable development is not the preserve of any one discipline — it is a mindset that anyone can embrace.

於八月舉辦的植物皮革手作體驗工作坊中，參加的中三至中五學生嘗試到如何將庭院廢棄物升級再造成實用且永續的皮革。從課堂講解到實驗室實作，每位參加者都對循環經濟有更深入的認識，並親手製作了自己專屬的鑰匙圈，親身見證創新如何賦予常被丟棄的物品全新生命。

本次工作坊由人文社會科學學院與化學及生物工程學系主辦，充分展現了參加者的多元背景。中學生與來自不同領域的學生大使互相交流，因着共同的好奇心與推動改變的意願而聚首，深刻體會到永續發展並非單一學科的專利，而是一種任何人都能培養的思維模式。

Hi, here’s Vivien! I spent my summer attending Yale’s summer session, and it has truly been one of the most precious experiences for me.

This journey turned out incredibly rewarding and unforgettable. I got to meet so many warm, talented friends from all over the world, explore authentic American culture through local trips and casual adventures, and step out of my comfort zone to embrace brand-new perspectives.

Balancing insightful coursework and wonderful outdoor explorations, I fully immersed myself in every moment of this summer. Grateful for all the growth, connections and beautiful memories this meaningful summer has brought me.
