Lantern Festival reel

🌕 This Mid-Autumn, we lit lanterns on the beach.

Their glow reflected on the children’s smiling faces;
Songs and waves sang of togetherness.

Parents, children, teachers — gathered in a circle.
No stage. No rehearsal. Just a real moment under the moonlight.

This is Mid-Autumn at Garden House.

🥮 The best mooncake is the one you make with your own hands.

This is Garden House’s annual Mid-Autumn tradition — our Mooncake Workshop. Every year, it draws many families, and this year was no exception.

Children and their parents gathered together — kneading dough, wrapping fillings, pressing moulds.

Little hands weren’t always steady. Fillings escaped sometimes. The mould pressed down a little crooked —
but no one minded. Because what mattered was this: small hands and big hands, at the same table, doing the same thing.

When the mooncakes came out of the oven, the whole room filled with warmth and fragrance.
The children couldn’t wait to take a bite — crumbs on their lips, eyes curved into smiles.

That bite wasn’t just the taste of mooncake.
It was the taste of togetherness. Of presence. Of “we made this together.”

🥮 最好的月餅，是自己親手做的。

這是 Garden House 每年中秋的傳統——月餅工作坊。每年都吸引許多家庭參加，今年也不例外。

孩子和爸爸媽媽一起，揉麵團、包餡料、壓模成型。

小手不太熟練，餡料有時跑出來，模具壓下去歪了一點——
但沒有人在意這些。因為最重要的，是那雙小手和那雙大手，在同一個桌上，做著同一件事。

月餅出爐的那一刻，香氣飄滿整個空間。
孩子迫不及待咬一口，嘴角沾著餅屑，眼睛笑得彎彎的。

這一口，不只是月餅的味道。
是團圓的味道，是陪伴的味道，是「我們一起完成」的味道。

🌹 On the first day of school, a flower is waiting for you.

New Grade 1 students, along with transfer students from other grades, walk in — a little nervous, a little excited.

Then they hear it — a group of older students standing there, playing recorders and singing to welcome them.

A teacher gently places a flower into each new child’s hands.

This ritual is called the Rose Ceremony.

The name comes from what the rose represents: gentleness, blessing, being cherished. What matters was never the flower itself, but the message it carries — that from this day on, every child is seen, accepted, and truly held.

No long speeches. No stern lectures. Just a song, a flower, and a silent message: “Welcome. You are one of us now.”

We believe the first day of school doesn’t have to be about nerves and fear — it can be a beginning wrapped in warmth.

🌻 On a child’s first day of school, we welcome them with a flower.

Hand in hand with Mum and Dad, the child steps into school. Teachers smile and gently hand over a flower.

The ritual is called the Sunflower Ceremony.

The name comes from what the sunflower represents: growing toward the light, growing with courage. What matters was never the flower itself, but the blessing it carries — may every child grow like a sunflower, always turning toward what is good and bright.

No rush. No tears of separation. Just a gentle “Welcome,” and a flower to hold, as the child takes that brave first step.

We believe the first day of school shouldn’t be about tears and tugging — it should be a beginning where a child feels truly held.

Three children. Three years. One quiet realization.

She’s a mother of three — and three years ago, she made a choice. She sent all her children to Garden House.

Not because it was the easy path. But because she believed in something different.

Now, three years later, here’s what she’s discovered:

Her children are not just happy — they are thriving. They’ve grown academically, socially, and emotionally. And she noticed something she didn’t quite expect:

By Grades 3 and 4, their academic level had already caught up with mainstream schools.

Not because they were pushed. Not because they were drilled. But because they were given time.

Time to understand, not just memorize. Time to explore, not just perform. Time to grow at their own pace.

She believes — and we do too — that children don’t need to be rushed to reach the finish line. When they are trusted and supported, they will get there. In their own time. In their own way.

This is what we mean by education with trust. This is what we mean by learning that lasts.

🎉 Our annual year‑end beach party, organized by the Parents Association, is a tradition we hold on the last day of the school year to celebrate together as a community! Relive the highlights from this year’s event: sun, sea, sand, BBQ, and endless laughter. Nearly 70 of us gathered, the weather was perfect, kids splashed in the sea, parents chatted over grilled goodies, and everyone left with happy hearts (and full tummies!). Huge thanks to all who joined and to our wonderful volunteers – you made this last day of school truly unforgettable. Until next year! 🌊🍖☀️

🌱 30 May — our farm officially opened.

No one could have imagined —
just six months ago, this was a wasteland.

Overgrown with weeds. Scattered with stones. Stagnant water that barely moved. Even walking through it was hard.

But a group of parents and children came — every weekend. Bent down. Picked up tools. Cleared bit by bit. Dug inch by inch.

Six months passed. After countless hours and endless sweat —
the wasteland finally became a farm.

On this day, we gathered. No grand ribbon-cutting. Just full hearts.

🌿 This is not just a farm.
It is our children‘s nature classroom. A place where community puts down roots.

🌱 5月30日，屬於我們的農場，正式開幕了。

沒有人想得到——
就在半年前，這裡還是荒蕪一片。

雜草叢生，石頭散落，死水積聚，連路都難走。
但有一群家長和孩子，每個週末，彎下腰、拿起工具，一點一點地清，一吋一吋地挖。

半年過去，在付出無數時間和汗水後，荒地，終於成了農場。

這天，我們站在這裡，不需要華麗的剪綵，只有滿滿的感恩。

🌿 這裡不只是一座農場。
是孩子的大自然課室，是社群紮根的地方。
