Our Middle Eastern & North African Book Fair at Africa Center HK was more than just books, it was a celebration of community, culture, and connection. We came together to showcase the rich diaspora of the Middle East and North African side, and it truly felt like one big family.

A huge thank you to Peace and Release HK Bookstore 🇭🇰 中東伊斯蘭文化雜貨店 for partnering with us and bringing such an amazing array of books to our center. We are so grateful! 🙏📚

Our participants got to enjoy:
🖌️ Learning about Egyptian Hieroglyphic art
🤲 Getting beautiful Henna designs on their hands
📖 Browsing and buying books
🍴 Delicious African snacks and good energy all around

Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to gather and explore the power of African storytelling at our African Literature Book Club.
It was a deep dive into Tsitsi Dangarembga’s modern classic, Nervous Conditions. Together, we unpacked rich themes of identity, tradition, and personal growth, sharing meaningful insights and fresh perspectives throughout the evening. 📜✍️

Beyond the literary discussion, it was a beautiful reminder of how storytelling brings us together. We connected with community members across Hong Kong, all united by curiosity, thoughtful conversation, and a shared love for reading. ❤️🤝

And of course, no cultural experience is complete without good food! We enjoyed delicious complimentary snacks and drinks that made the evening even more memorable. ✨
