To so many of us, Jun is a true legend in the music industry, but what touches me most isn’t just his “world-class” drumming — it’s his big, kind heart. 💛 He took his own song “We All Fall Down” and, so organically and beautifully, worked with the team (Kenny, Vivian, and Romeu) to rewrite the lyrics into “A Homage to Life”, dedicated to the cancer patients, their families, and survivors at Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre. Just a pure, simple wish — to let his music quietly accompany those who are going through tough times.
“All those tears, you’ve been holding back. Let me be the one to wipe them away”
Thank you, Jun. Thank you, Kenny So, Vivian and Romeu. And thank you, Lea, for introducing me to these beautiful souls.

Music: A Genuine Connection Beyond Words
There is a place where words can’t go, but music can.
We feel encouraged by the announcement of the “MIND Program.” It’s run by Severance Hospital and co-authored with Suga (Min Yoongi). It’s not just the program itself, but the heart behind the program. An artist volunteering with children on the autism spectrum reminds us that music is a universal bridge.
Why does this connection feel so "genuine"? In my work, I see how traditional conversation can sometimes feel like a barrier. But rhythm and melody? They offer a safe, non-verbal language. When we sit together with an instrument, the pressure to "speak" fades away, and a rhythmic connection takes its place. It’s in these quiet, musical moments that we finally find a way to express the feelings that words simply cannot capture.
In the midst of our busy city, I believe we all need a sanctuary where we can be "heard" without saying a word. 🌉 At Music Flow, we are dedicated to holding that space. We want to ensure that music is more than just a melody—it’s a gentle, life-changing force that allows every heart to feel seen, understood, and deeply connected.
Let’s keep the music flowing, and let’s keep honoring the quiet language of the heart. ✨

Music Therapy: Connecting people in so many ways 🎶🌍
Music Flow

"What is Music Therapy?"
For us, it’s more than a clinical service. It’s a bridge—an organic connection built on the "Human Touch" that brings us all together.
As Hong Kong’s first nonprofit dedicated solely to Music Therapy, Music Flow serves through three pillars of love:
🎵 Music Therapy — One-on-one and group sessions for hospital patients, elderlies, and children with special needs, etc.
🤝 Empowering Care — Training caregivers, social workers, and medical staff to integrate music into daily support.
🎤 Community Music Hub — Choirs and public events where everyone can find their sense of belonging through music.
From the individual bedside to the community center—from a single tear to a 400-person choir—we believe that when the music begins, so does the healing.
Let the music flow into every heart that needs it. 💛

🎶 A Musical Breathing Space for Caregivers:
Music Therapy Retreat for the End of Life Care Services team from St. James’ Settlement
Last week, Music Flow hosted a 3-hour music therapy retreat for the End of Life Care Services team from St. James’ Settlement, who care for terminally ill patients and their families.
Through music imagery and instruments, the team explored the "gifts of life" within their hearts—embracing both joy and gentle sadness. They even co-wrote an exclusive “Peace” song and bonded as part of a grand ensemble.
Though short, these three hours gave them a much-needed breathing space to understand themselves, connect with each other, and find strength through the power of music. 🤍

Thirteen years ago, I proposed using music to help patients, inspired by its power to comfort.
A senior doctor suggested buying a machine for better reliability, but my belief in music’s healing role remained.
During my internship, I saw music ease fear, loneliness, and pain.
Today, Music Flow’s “Harmony Connection” program, featured in HASLink magazine, has supported over 120 inpatients at Queen Mary Hospital since February 2025.
Two stories:
Zoe, recovering from breast cancer and pneumonia, found peace through music, calling it “a little sweetness in the midst of bitterness."
Another couple created a song; after her death, it became her husband’s cherished keepsake.
From a hopeful idea to seeing our work valued and integrated into patient care today, thank you to the clinical teams at Queen Mary Hospital and beyond for their continued trust and unwavering partnership.
After thirteen years, I still believe in music’s power and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Thanks for sponsoring the program: Keswick Foundation

Music Flow
Just before Christmas, we joined healthcare teams from two public hospitals to step into the world of music therapy.
Music Flow hosted workshops for nurses, social workers, medical students, physiotherapists and more, allowing them to relax through music, experience stress relief and self-care.
This was not only a tribute to their daily hard work, but also a chance for them to deeply understand how music therapy applies in hospitals—helping patients reduce pain, ease anxiety and facilitate positive mood. 🌱
We hope that in busy hospital settings, everyone can harness music’s power—knowing what we can do, and just as importantly, how to safely integrate it into daily routines.
That day, we together:
• Learned stress management and team relaxation techniques through guided music
• Discussed practical applications of music therapy in hospitals, like ward support, emotional regulation and rehabilitation.
• Entered the wards to visit patients in need, feeling music’s warm connections
Our co-founder Sarah visited one hospital, sharing encouraging words and joining us in the wards, showcasing our team’s unity and commitment.
💛 Heartfelt thanks to every healthcare worker for trusting Music Flow and our therapists, and to the team for the seamless arrangements.

hello, music therapists and students 🎶
hello, music therapists and students 🎶
In the past week, 47 registered music therapists and music therapy students in Hong Kong joined us online and stepped together into the realities of crisis response.
This NOVA Crisis Response Training Workshop, hosted by Music Flow and led by clinical and counselling psychologist Dr. Albert Chan (Psy.D., RSW), focused on early-phase post-disaster support, boundary setting, risk awareness, and working safely within frontline teams.
Originally, this workshop was intended as internal training for therapists volunteering after the recent fire incident.
Yet it soon became clear that, following any major event, those who may encounter affected individuals are never just a small group, but the wider music therapy community.
We therefore opened the training to music therapists and students across Hong Kong, hoping that when facing trauma and crisis, colleagues can grasp essential frameworks, understand what we can responsibly do, and just as importantly, what we must not do. 🌱
During the evening, we:
• Organised practical steps and frameworks for early-stage post-disaster support.
• Reflected on how music therapists can define professional boundaries and avoid “doing the wrong thing with good intentions”.
• Learned how to care for ourselves and our teams while caring for others.
💛 Heartfelt thanks to every colleague who took time to participate and invest in their own preparation.
In these uncertain times, professionalism and self-care are among the deepest forms of respect we can offer to the people we serve.
