German Swiss International School Hong Kong GSIS has two streams, English and German, from Kindergarten to Secondary school.

This is the official page of the German Swiss International School, Hong Kong, 德瑞國際學校, maintained by the Advancement Department of the school. The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is an international school in Hong Kong established in 1969, providing bilingual German-English education. Long-renowned for excellence in teaching and student achievement, GSIS continues to prepare students as confident and well-rounded individuals with a love of learning that will stay with them for life beyond GSIS. GSIS offers education in two parallel streams, from Kindergarten to Secondary School, following the German and English school system. In addition there is the option to pursue professional training through the school’s Business College. The school is certified by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organisation as an IB World School and by the German Federal Government as an “Excellent German School Abroad”.

Congratulations! Our students continue to reach impressive heights outside the classroom.

Laura (Y08) brought home 1st Prize in the Piano Grade 8 Group at the AIMA International Music Festival Tokyo Final 2026. 🎼

Hannah (Y11) secured 1st place in the Diploma Group at the Hong Kong Professional Piano Competition 2026. 🎹

Isabella (Y04) achieved 1st Place in the Piano Junior Class A category at the Asia International Exchange Music Competition for Young Artists, alongside 5th Prize in the 9th KAWAI Asia Piano Competition Hong Kong and Macau Region. 🎵

Rochelle (Y09) earned a fantastic 3rd place finish out of 77 competitors at the U14 Golf Championship in Hong Kong, competing against top talent from across the region. 🤺

Kayleigh (Y02) claimed 1st place in the Red Ball division at the Tennis Asia Young Talents Tennis Tour, competing as one of the youngest athletes on the court. 🎾

Rose (Y09) competed at the National Day Cup Age Group Athletic Meet 2026, earning a brilliant 2nd place finish in the Group F High Jump. 🥈

A very special guest arrived at our Pok Fu Lam Campus this week and it was not your average visitor! 🐉

The Pok Fu Lam Village Chief brought the spectacular Fire Dragon to campus as part of our Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations. Our students could not believe their eyes as the dragon danced its way through the school, right in front of them.

It was a first for our school and a wonderful way to connect our youngest learners with a cherished local tradition.

Ever wondered what it is really like to study at Johns Hopkins or UBC? Our students just found out. 🌍✨

We recently opened our Peak Campus doors to university representatives from across the United States and Canada, giving our Secondary students from both the German and English International Streams a chance to ask questions. What is campus life really like? Which programmes are the best fit? What comes next?

We were thrilled to welcome Johns Hopkins University, along with five leading U.S. liberal arts colleges: Wesleyan University, Mount Holyoke College, Reed College, Whitman College and Williams College. We also hosted The University of British Columbia, where students explored studying in Canada and engaging with world class research.

Our students walked away with a much clearer picture of the pathways ahead. It was a brilliant glimpse into what comes next.

What can a single performer teach a room full of Drama students? Quite a lot. 🎭

Recently, we welcomed BYTE Ensemble, an Australian theatre company, to our school. Our Year 10 to 13 Drama students from the English International Stream were treated to their solo piece "Before She Knew Me", which explored memory, family, growing up, love and jealousy. Seeing one actor carry an entire story was a powerful lesson in the craft.

Students also joined workshops on devising methods, theatre practitioners and acting techniques. Drama builds empathy, confidence and collaboration, skills that serve our students well beyond the stage.

It was fantastic to see our students engage so thoughtfully and bring such energy and creativity to the sessions. ✨

Our Primary and Secondary students from both streams had the incredible opportunity to visit Kai Tak Arena for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the world-famous CAVALLUNA horse show!

From learning how 160 tons of special sand create the perfect arena floor to discovering how horses travel safely from Europe to Hong Kong, our students saw firsthand the care and teamwork behind this production.

They also learned about the trust between rider and horse and enjoyed watching a rehearsal from the upper floor, with a clear view of the horses in their stables.

We are grateful to the CAVALLUNA team for making this special experience possible. ✨

Kristopher (Y12) was selected for the Hong Kong National Team (HKT) U16 against Manchester United U16, scoring a penalty kick to help his team secure the championship! ⚽

Isco (K07) earned an official world ranking at the German Open Championships in Stuttgart, placing 2nd in Junior 1 Standard, 5th in Junior 1 Latin and 6th in Junior 2 Latin! 🕺

Julie (Y05) took 3rd place in Pop & Musical Theatre and earned a Gold Award at the Hong Kong International Vocal Elite Competition, before placing 2nd in the Vocal Junior U10 category in Seoul! 🎶

Christabel (Y08) brought home top results from the 2026 GLDC City Alliance Dance Competition in Guangzhou, securing 2nd place in Cha Cha and Samba, 3rd place in Rumba and 4th place in Jive! 💃

Summer (Y10) took 1st place in the Intermediate Screen Category, Emma (Y11) earned 2nd place in the Intermediate Classical Category and Sylvie (Y10) received a commendation at the International Youth Monologues! 🎭

Hanru (Y07) claimed 1st Runner-Up in the Discovery 2 Girls category at the 2026 Aquathlon Series Race 4, completing a 200m swim and 2.1km run! 🏊‍♀️🏃‍♀️

What an incredible year for our Class of 2026! 🎓✨

Our final IBDP and Abitur results are in and we could not be more proud of the entire class!

Following a successful remark process, five more IBDP students from our English International Stream have achieved the maximum score of 45, bringing our total IBDP top scorers to 13. One third of the cohort scored 44 or 45 points, and 78% achieved 40 points or above. The average score sits at an impressive 42, with all 63 students passing the IB Diploma. One student also earned a Bilingual Diploma.

Over in the German International Stream, our cohort of 7 students achieved an average Abitur score of 1.79, with one student scoring a perfect 1.0.

These results are a wonderful reflection of the hard work of our students, as well as the support from our parent community and teaching staff. We are so proud of everything this class has achieved.

Here’s a look at the incredible sporting successes our students have brought home recently. Drumroll, please... 🥁

Jayden (Y12) secured two major international victories with the Hong Kong U16 Football Team! Winning the Asia International Youth Soccer Championship in Japan, followed by a win against the Manchester United U16 Academy at the Jockey Club Academy Summit, an exceptional feat against one of the world’s most prestigious youth academies. ⚽️

Viren (Y09) represented Hong Kong at the U19 Men’s National Youth Cricket Championship, making his debut with an impressive 50 runs to help secure the championship. 🏏

Alexander (Y09) earned international squash success with a Silver medal at the Japan Junior Open and 5th place at the Korean Junior Open in the Boys U15 category, both renowned international tournaments attracting top young players from around the world. 🎾

Annabel (Y05) placed in the Top 10 female Cadetti sailors at the Trofeo Simone Lombardi international Optimist regatta in Lake Garda, Italy, one of the world’s leading youth sailing events, drawing top talent globally. ⛵️

Charlton (Y01) & Chaunte (Y01) brought home impressive fencing medals. Silver in U6 Boys’ Foil at the Hong Kong Life Wide Competition, plus Silver & Bronze in U6 Girls’ Foil across Shanghai and Hong Kong events. 🤺

Karina (Y05) took 2nd Place in Category 1 at the Next Rainbow Junior Road Cycling Race in Hong Kong. 🚴🏻‍♀️

We are incredibly proud of our young musicians, who have earned top honours on both local and international stages:

Alaina (Y10) – First Prize Champion at the AIMA International Music Festival Tokyo Final, one of the most competitive junior music festivals in Asia 🎹

Ella (Y08) & Claire (Y10) – 1st and 2nd place respectively in their age categories at the 2026 “Salzburg” Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition, earning the opportunity to perform live in Austria, a globally recognised platform for young artists 🎼

Shawn (Y01) – Triple award winner: 1st Place at the International Beaux Arts Music Festival, 1st Place at the Association of International Hong Kong Music Competition and 2nd Place at the Barclampory Competition, demonstrating remarkable versatility on the violin. 🎻

Isabel (Y02) – 2nd place at the 30th PIARA International Piano Competition, which qualified her for the 2026 Asia International Exchange Music Competition for Young Artists in Seoul, where she went on to secure 3rd place overall. 🌟

Kaia (Y03) – Champion in the Piano Grade 2 category at the 11th Hong Kong Music Talent Competition, earning a special invitation to perform at the Hong Kong Palace Museum this October — a wonderful local honour with cultural significance. 🎶
