Hong Kong Toastmasters Club

Hong Kong Toastmasters Club Founded in 1954, we are the first Toastmasters Club in Asia. We know you want to be more self-confident, become a competent speaker and communicator.

We meet on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th working Mondays at 7:00 pm at Ooosh Coworking Cerntal: 22/F, Tower 2, New World Tower, 16-18 Queen’s Road Central, Central, Hong Kong. Since established in 1954, Hong Kong Toastmasters Club, the oldest toastmasters club in the Asia Pacific Region, has been providing a supportive environment and great learning experience to empower individuals to sharpen their public speaking and leadership skills. But the lack of opportunities to learn and practice makes you afraid of public speaking. We understand your frustration. All of us had been there. We know you want a safe environment to try and need experienced members to support and guide you on your journey to personal and professional growth. Here’s the 3 easy steps you can do now:
1. Join us as guest
2. Become club member
3. Speak to lead!

Freedom and resilience | 31 Aug 2026

How do you measure a milestone? Is it by a comfort zone left behind, or a challenge bravely accepted? At our last meeting, we celebrated achievements on both fronts!

👦 David Chan reflected on how fear and silence cost him a relationship and a group project. He reminded us that preparation means nothing without communication, and he is now using Toastmasters to step out of his safe zone.

👦 Victor Van delivered a powerful wake-up call about personal growth. He shared that the magic to change our fate isn’t external. It is found directly in the work we avoid, like stepping up to present a speech.

👦 Abhishek Kumar tackled the daily dilemma of “To do or not to do.” He broke success down into three simple steps: decide to begin before you are ready, decide to continue with resilience, and decide to celebrate your progress.

It’s great to know and see our members are making their achievements in Toastmasters! Drop a ❤️ if you are ready to step out of your safe zone and choose ‘to do’ this week!

Achievements and Milestones | 17 Aug, 2026

How do you measure a milestone? Is it by a conflict resolved, or a community strengthened? At our last meeting, we celebrated achievements on both fronts!

👧 Irene Cheng shared a brilliant perspective on conflict resolution. Through a story of two children splitting an orange, she reminded us that true fairness requires deeper listening. When we look past initial “positions” to find actual “interests” (one wanted the fruit, the other wanted the peel for a lantern!), we unlock true win-win outcomes.

👦 Ben Fung rolled out an exciting update to revitalize our Mentorship Program! We are strengthening member support by dedicating new member briefings to mentors, formalizing co-mentor groups, and streamlining speech request arrangements.

It’ s great to know and see our members are making their achievements in Toastmaster! Drop a ❤️ if you are ready to apply these win-win strategies this week!

Heroes Among Us | 03 Aug 2026

What makes a hero? Our three speakers proved that heroism isn't about superpowers. It is about the quiet courage to face our fears, extend empathy, and redefine our limits!

🙋‍♀️ Katie Chan — “Character Development”
Katie reflected on transitioning to corporate life by embracing uncomfortable new challenges, highlighting her journey of overcoming intense fear during a university acrobatics class. She ultimately discovered that real personal growth comes from enduring discomfort and showing up consistently rather than achieving instant perfection.

🙋‍♀️ Lucy Morris — “Giving the Benefit of the Doubt”
Lucy challenged our default instinct to assume the worst when someone's behavior changes unexpectedly by highlighting the unseen personal circumstances driving their actions. She proved that true leadership means pausing to question our assumptions and seeking to understand before passing judgment.

🙋‍♀️ Christy Chan — “Breaking Stories We Tell Ourselves”
Christy shared how self-limiting internal narratives hold us back, revealing that fear delayed her debut speech for a year despite her business success. She ultimately conquered the stage by questioning labels, acting despite fear, starting small, and celebrating every milestone.

We also want to give a big shout-out to Andrew Yeung DTM for giving us an incredible workshop on evaluation. Let’s put these learnings into our work and be our own heroes! 🚀

❤️Ice-Breaker: Katie Chan

Team Work Makes The Dream Work | 20 Jul, 2026

What an incredible energy at our latest Hong Kong Toastmasters meeting where we proved that "Team Work Makes The Dream Work!"

Here are the highlights from our inspiring speakers!

💁‍♀️Jasmine shared how ignoring her body for work and family led to crippling back pain. Her health transformed when she embraced yoga, proving that gentle, consistent self-care creates lasting wellness.

🙋‍♂️David opened up in "Silence Was My Safe Zone." He reflected on how fear and a lack of confidence cost him relationships and projects, prompting him to join Toastmasters to find his voice.

💁‍♂️Dulanga delivered an epic Ice Breaker on automation. From automating his apartment to building a custom AI camera app at 3 AM to film his own speech, he proved that success means leveraging the right teammates - human or tech.
