EdUHK-LMU Joint Symposium - Engaging Learners in Sustainability: Exploring Socio-Scientific and Environmental Challenges
Dear Colleagues and Students,
You are cordially invited to attend the EdUHK-LMU Joint Symposium 2026: Engaging Learners in Sustainability: Exploring Socio-Scientific and Environmental Challenges, jointly organised by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich).
This international symposium will bring together distinguished scholars, researchers, educators, and students to explore innovative approaches to sustainability education, environmental science, educational psychology, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies in teaching and learning.
The symposium will feature keynote addresses by:
• Prof. John Lee Chi-Kin, President, The Education University of Hong Kong
• Prof. Dr. Jochen Kuhn, Vice President for Innovation in Education and Teacher Training, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich)
• Prof. Jim Chi-Yung, Chair Professor and Advisor (Geography and Environmental Science), EdUHK
• Prof. Dr. Ralf Ludwig, Professor in Environmental Modelling and Chief Sustainability Officer, LMU Munich
• Prof. Ying Guangguo, Dean, School of Environmental Research Institute, South China Normal University
Participants will also have the opportunity to attend one of three parallel thematic sessions:
• AI & Digital Innovations in Sustainability
• Educational Psychology & Learner Engagement for Sustainability
• Interdisciplinary Environmental Science and Education for Sustainable Development
