The Summer Debate Classic 2026 is almost here! This time, co-organized by Capstone & Hong Kong Polytechnic University English Debating Club!

🏅 Our Chief Adjudicator Panel (CAP) is stacked! Jami has served twice on the School Debate World Cup (WSDC) Chief Adjudicator Panel, and is the first ever to hold CAP roles across all of Asia's major championships in one year. Chloe served as CAP member and Convenor for JUDC 2026 and ex-chaired the PolyU Debate Club. Moses wrapped up four years on the Hong Kong WSDC Team and won the 2026 Hong Kong Debate Open. Bosco, Chairperson of the PolyU English Debating Club, reached open outrounds across Shanghai, Taiwan, and Macau, and was 3rd Best Speaker at the Joint Universities Debate Championship 2025.

🌟 And joining as Invited Adjudicators, number of individuals from Team Hong Kong brings together some of the city's best debaters and champions to round out high quality judging!

🌟 July's Standout Performances 🌟

July carried all of June's momentum and then some: championship titles, semifinal runs, and speaker awards earned across Oxford WSDC, India Pre-WSDC, Kazakhstan Pre-WSDC, Prague Debate Spring, and Kenya World Schools Debating Championship.

We will start with achievements of our debaters from late June which we think deserves its moment in the spotlight. 🎯

🏆 At Oxford WSDC 2026 (26–28 June), our debaters delivered a commanding showing with the Under-16 Championship title, three Under-16 Semifinalists, five Quarterfinalists, and four Octofinalists, capped by the Overall Best Speaker of the tournament, along with 4th, 7th, and 13th Best Speaker honours.

🔥 At the India Pre-WSDC 2026, our team reached the Semifinals with three debaters, backed by two Overall Best Speaker placements and three Best Under-15 Speaker awards, including a 2nd place finish.

⭐ At the Kazakhstan Pre-WSDC 2026, three of our debaters advanced to the Semifinals, sweeping three Overall Best Speaker placements and three Best Under-17 Speaker awards.

🎉 At Prague Debate Spring 2026, our debaters were crowned Champions, adding two Overall Best Speaker placements and two Best Under-15 Speaker awards to the trophy.

🌍 At the Kenya World Schools Debating Championship 2026, three of our debaters progressed to the Double-Octofinals on the biggest competition of this calendar year.

👏 Congratulations to every one of our debaters for an outstanding July. From Oxford to Nairobi, you continue to represent Capstone with skill, courage, and heart, and we can't wait to see what August holds. 🚀
