From The Cat and the Bird 🐱🐦
to The Frog Prince 🐸👑
Our CAP children explored two wonderful stories over the past few weeks.
First, they coloured a cat and a bird — bringing the tale to life with bright crayons. 🎨
Then, they made their very own Frog Prince craft.
Two stories. Two crafts.
A few weeks of fun with CAP. 💛

Don’t Just “Survive” the School Holidays
School holidays: a time for joy, freedom, and… the looming dread of endless “I’m bored” declarations. But what if these weeks off could be more than just a survival test for parents?
According to Louise Livingston, Head of Training at Maria Montessori Institute, the break offers a golden opportunity—not just to keep children busy, but to nurture their creativity, independence, and lasting family memories. By borrowing a few key principles from the Montessori approach, parents can transform chaotic days into meaningful moments of growth, discovery, and genuine connection.
Here’s how to prepare your home, embrace the unexpected, and even let your child take the lead this holiday season.

Thanks for the good weather 🤗 after a long week of rain 🌧️
We had so much fun playing group games related to the Dragon Boat Festival, with the magnificent view of our harbour. We cheered, laughed, and worked as a team 🤗

When it’s hot outside, nothing sounds better than an ice lolly. ☀️🍦
But real ice lollies are sometimes food — not an everyday treat.
So our CAP students made their own — using colourful pom poms and lollipop sticks. 🍡🎨
They talked about hot weather, staying cool, and when a real ice lolly is just right.
A pretend ice lolly that never melts.
And a smart lesson about sometimes food. 💛

Tattling and Threats
In this episode of Unruffled, Janet Lansbury tackles three common childhood behaviors that often leave parents and teachers frustrated: threats ("If you don't, I won't"), warnings ("I'm going to hit you"), and tattling. While these moments can feel alarming or annoying, the episode offers a surprisingly simple, unified approach to handling all of them. The key is learning to see these behaviors as neutral communication—just information—rather than as problems to be fixed or punished. Parents will come away with practical, calm strategies that empower children to work through conflict on their own while strengthening trust with the adults in their lives. A valuable listen for anyone guiding young children.
