Kellogg-HKUST EMBA The Kellogg–HKUST EMBA is a 12-time No.1 EMBA program in the world ranked by the Financial Times. PREMIUM EDUCATION FOR SENIOR EXECUTIVES

Two Schools.

One World Class. The Kellogg–HKUST Executive MBA program is a premium educational experience devoted to upgrading executives’ knowledge and management skills. The program encourages participants to think differently, look at their operations in a new way and relentlessly question and challenge. It is tailor-made for senior executives in Asia who have attained positions of leadership in their organizations. It helps them to raise the bar and understand the challenges ahead in a global context. The program develops competencies required by executives to make their businesses more competitive. Executive MBA participants learn about the latest global management tools and concepts. Organized in short but intensive modules, participants take two courses each month. Courses cut across traditional subject areas, providing tools and techniques for solving complex managerial problems. Emphasis is on three specific areas of management skills:

- Behavior in learning organizations
- International management
- Managing groups of co-operating firms for international competitiveness

Upon successful completion, participants are awarded one Master of Business Administration degree issued jointly by Northwestern University and HKUST. Graduates become alumni of both universities.

“Why would a surgeon need an EMBA?”

Dr. Jennifer Mok, ophthalmologist and head of ophthalmology at Human Health, gave a clear answer. Years in medicine had trained her to be precise, directive, and absolute. Yet as her responsibilities expanded into corporate leadership, she recognized that clinical expertise alone could not equip her for the challenges ahead. “I needed to develop a strategic mindset,” she reflects. “The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA was the most straightforward and right decision.”

The program became her bridge from the microscope to the macro view. Ranked number one globally on 12 occasions by the Financial Times, the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA offered Jennifer the intellectual rigor and international exposure she needed. Surrounded by senior global leaders from industries as diverse as finance, technology, and manufacturing, she broke free from the confines of her clinical mindset, learnt the discipline of data-driven decision-making, and put collaborative leadership into practice.

Though it may seem unconventional, Jennifer believes medical professionals gain a deeper perspective when they step into the world of business. For her, an EMBA was the right place to start. In just 18 months, it changed the way she approached leadership and the way she understood her own potential. Watch the full interview to hear her story: https://youtu.be/CZ6XfjgpLvI

Some friendships last a season; others last a lifetime. When students join the Kellogg‑HKUST EMBA, they expect to graduate with sharpened knowledge and stronger business connections, but one of the greatest gifts they take away is lifelong friendship.

KH26 (Class of 2024) is a shining example. This cohort recently reunited in Bangkok for a weekend getaway, catching up on careers and life after graduation while exploring the city together. The choice of location was extra special as Bangkok is the hometown of their classmate Joy Sriyuksiri, who went above and beyond to arrange accommodation, meals, and even entertainment. A big shoutout to Joy for making it all possible!

Reunion photos from our alumni always bring a smile. They remind us of the laughter, support, and lifelong bonds that began in the classroom and continue to grow into family, no matter where life leads.💜

“Can the drive that wins races also win in business?”

Tung Ho‑Pin (Class of 2022) thought so, and the Kellogg‑HKUST Executive MBA gave him the structure, confidence, and connections to prove it. As former F1 driver and now Director and Head of Private Office Hong Kong at Knight Frank, Ho-Pin turned to the program not only to complete studies once put on hold but also to equip himself better for the opportunities in times of change. His journey shows reinvention can happen at any stage, at any speed.

Speed is relative. While many people slow down when faced with uncertainty, our Kellogg-HKUST EMBA alumnus TUNG Ho-Pin does the opposite. As a former Formula One driver accustomed to racing at 300 km/h, standing still was never an option—so he accelerated.

So when it came time to navigate a new chapter in his career, he chose to invest in himself., Tung shares that his classmates with “different experiences and different expertise” were among the biggest gifts of the program, exposing him to perspectives that sharpened his approach to business leadership.

Reflecting on the unpredictability of today's business environment, Tung notes: “𝗡𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀.”

Today, Tung has successfully channeled the focus, discipline, and strategic thinking honed on the racetrack into as the Director and Head of Private Office Hong Kong at Knight Frank.

Every month, Lipei Zhang (Class of 2026), China President of the U.S.-China Business Council, leaves her home in Beijing before sunrise, boarding the first flight to Hong Kong. By Sunday night, she is back again, ready to start another week. It’s a demanding rhythm, repeated month after month, for 18 months. Yet for Lipei, it has never felt like a burden, for each journey is a conscious choice.

Out of the many executive programs available in mainland China, Lipei deliberately chose the Kellogg‑HKUST EMBA. Very quickly, she realized her journey was part of something larger. From distant cities across the U.S., Europe, India, and Southeast Asia, her classmates arrived with equally demanding schedules and long flights. Their collective determination gave the program its distinctive energy, becoming the superglue that bonded the cohort closely across varied industries and backgrounds.

Consistently ranked No.1 globally by the Financial Times, the Kellogg‑HKUST EMBA gave Lipei the confidence she was joining an international program designed to carry her beyond China and prepare her for even more demanding leadership roles ahead. In the classroom, Lipei discovered voices that pushed her to unlearn and grow. “That’s what leadership today requires — being open, curious, and willing to be challenged,” she reflects.

If you are a senior executive who feels that same curiosity to grow, even if you cannot yet explain it — listen to it. That pull can be a turning point that transforms your career in 18 months and for the long run. Watch the full interview with Lipei Zhang to see how: https://youtu.be/zED8x3Oq-uc

Ranked No. 1 in the world 12 times, the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA is consistently at the top of its game. What truly sets it apart isn’t just prestige, it’s the people. Nearly half the cohort already hold C-suite or senior executive titles, making leadership at the highest level the norm. Ego, however, takes a back seat. Built around a selective yet humble community, the program thrives on its “high-impact, low-ego” ethos.

This ethos isn’t just talk. In this article, Prof. Francesca Cornelli, Dean of Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and Prof. Frederic Anseel, Dean of the Business School at HKUST, explain how this unique positioning has elevated the program to global recognition.

Students from the current KH29 cohort (Class of 2027), Maggie Li from Hong Kong and Michael Hangelmann from Spain, also bring unique perspectives from their roles as Chief Retail Operations Officer at Chow Sang Sang and Chief Executive at Eurovision Services, sharing real-life stories of how the program has influenced their leadership path.

Discover how the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA cultivates leaders who rise without posturing, and why collaboration, not isolation, is the secret to sustainable success.

A diamond of an experience!

What a privilege it was for the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA community to step inside the Chow Sang Sang Production Centre in Shunde, a rare opportunity made possible thanks to Maggie Li (KH29), Chief Retail Operations Officer at Chow Sang Sang.

Our students and alumni were granted exclusive access to three core centres at the heart of Chow Sang Sang’s operations:

● The Diamond Polishing Centre
● The Gold Jewellery Production Headquarters
● The Intelligent Fulfilment Centre

Knowledge shines in many forms, and this visit was a brilliant reminder that learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Through strong community ties, we continue to open doors to experiences that are as rare and valuable as the gems we witnessed.
