Sorry not sorry to be leaving Hong Kong airport after a very loooooooong stopover! 😴First flight out to NZ for the day 9:05pm local time 🕘 Ready for our 12 hour flight home to NZ 🇳🇿 Looking forward to that winter weather.. ❄️🌧

Last day in Venice!! 😔 So sad to leave this beautiful city and sunshine! ☀️ Today we saw a Murano glass blowing demonstration, took a gondola ride then headed over to the picturesque island of Burano.

Venice is the perfect city to get lost in with all it’s tiny maze of alleyway sized streets! So picturesque 😍 📷 Today we had a tour of the magnificent Doge’s palace, learned all sorts of fascinating information about the history of Venice - Economics, History, Art History and Politics all covered! 💶🕌🏦 We visited the stunning Madonna dell’Orto church - famous for the Tinaretto paintings inside, the San Rocco school (which isn’t a school at all) and navigated our way around many teeny tiny streets! 😎

Venice! So beautiful and so unique! 😍 This afternoon we took a Vaperetto ride to walk over the temporary bridge to the island of Giudecca - the bridge is only up this weekend for the annual Redentore festival. Vaperetto back along the Grand Canal 🛥
We are on the train - Frecciarossa (translates to red arrow) travelling from Firenze to Venezia (Venice) for the last part of our trip! 🚊🇮🇹⚜️➡️🎭 Current speed about 170km/hr

Another epic day exploring Firenze: today we crossed the river Arno to see the Medici’s other palace Palazzo Pitti (The Uffizi wasn’t big enough so they bought a second house and even made a private corridor between them - the Vasari corridor). We then checked out the Boboli gardens - inspiration for Versailles. The view was pretty good.. but not good enough for us, so in the afternoon we climbed over 400 very old and very steep, narrow, winding stairs to the top of Duomo cathedral 👊🏻 In between - gelato and pizza.. and of course, shopping! Shout out to Mr Preston for looking after all the shopping while the rest of us climbed the dome! ❤️ ps it was 35 degrees today.. ☀️☀️
