One of my favourite parts of teaching is what happens behind the scenes.
A student plays a phrase.
We sing it.
Shape it.
Imagine it.
Sometimes we hear a bass saxophone. Sometimes a trumpet section. Sometimes a singer carrying the melody.
The notes don’t change.
But the musical picture behind them does.
And often that’s what transforms a performance from something that sounds nice into something that feels alive.

Study music from someone who can inspire you to love learning music! But who says it can't be fun and fulfilling at the same time?
Embarking on a musical journey should be an exhilarating experience, where learning isn't just a repetitive chore or an overwhelming challenge. It's true that mastering an instrument requires dedication, practice, and a bit of hard work. In my teaching, I strive to strike a perfect balance - making music education both enjoyable and effective. I firmly believe that while learning music does demand
Reading notes is important.
But at some point, students need to understand how music is put together.
This week we explored major and minor chords—not just learning shapes, but learning to recognize patterns.
When students start seeing relationships between notes, they become less dependent on memorization and more confident in their musical decisions.
That’s where things start to get interesting.
Less guessing.
More understanding.
More music.
Teaching note reading to beginners can be challenging… making it FUN is even harder 🎹✨

Most kids don’t struggle with rhythm—
they just can’t see it yet and staying on beat.
So we step away from the piano…
feel the pulse, draw it, then bring it back.
And when they start rushing?
That’s the moment they begin to hear themselves.

“What changed?”
Well, counting is the magic! ✨💫
Most students skip this step—
but without counting, the music falls apart.
We slowed it down,
counted it through, and built it properly 🎶
One week later…
Student of the week 🎹💫👏
Be honest.
How many flashcards actually make it home?
I built Harmonyland because I was tired of watching kids disengage from note reading.
They don’t need more paper.
They need interaction.
They need narrative.
They need repetition that doesn’t feel like repetition.
This isn’t replacing good teaching.
It supports it — and saves you time.

Jazz isn’t just about singing more. 🎤👩🎤🎶
It’s about hearing more. 🎧😉🪄✨
This vocal lab is for singers who want to go deeper —
into listening, time, phrasing, and expression.
Over two weeks, we’ll work with one jazz piece, apply key jazz singing concepts, and refine how you sing and hear.
You’ll notice the difference by the second week.
