As we close out 2024, we’re thrilled to share some incredible milestones at PST｜Preface School of Technology!

🎄 The countdown to Christmas is on, but it has already arrived at Preface Winter Fest! We celebrated with a group of enthusiastic young tech lovers who explored the latest tech trends for 2024 from around the globe!

2024 is definitely the year where change is becoming constant, and we invited these new little faces to learn how technology can enhance sports performance, the pedagogy of learning styles in the U.S., and how Korea is effectively using AI in smart cities at Preface Winter Fest. It’s wonderful to watch our next generation explore technology with curiosity and an open mind at Preface HQ.

Most importantly, we celebrated the success of our overseas DE courses—Light Up London which brought together students from two countries to elevate the Christmas lighting in London, and we’re honored to showcase their projects on our building's facade, adding a 3D tech twist to this year's Hong Kong Christmas lighting!

With our 𝐂𝐎-𝐃𝐄 approach at PST, Design Thinking (DE) is our most anticipated curriculum, as it opens up endless possibilities for students to touch the world through coding.

Today at Preface HQ, we are thrilled to celebrate the presentation day of our latest collaboration with LOST HK. This special DE course allows students to explore why kids and adults love playing escape rooms and how to create their own.

Throughout the course, PST students were tasked with creating their own escape room. To understand the design process, they experienced an escape room for the first time, shifting their perspective from gamer to game creator and earned essential principles, including user experience design and the mechanics of traps, before developing their prototypes, complete with themes, storylines, puzzles, and interactive components.

Who doesn’t love playing games? But creating them is even more exciting! We are truly grateful to see these students work hard, crafting their own slides and presentation notes to pitch to the judges. Each pitch showcased their creativity and how they linked real-life applications to their game plans. Well done everyone!

🎉 What a fantastic day at Preface HQ today! We just kicked off our “Light Up London” Design Thinking course, and our space is buzzing with the festive spirit of Oxford Street! 🎄

Our little coders dove into the magic of Christmas lights in Britain, exploring famous artworks like the Mona Lisa and Starry Night, plus their favourite characters from Roblox, Minecraft, and Pokémon. They had fun discussing how to mix modern art with tech while keeping traditions alive, connecting with London’s vibrant arts scene.

Using Design Thinking skills, they learned to blend tradition, technology, and sustainability in their projects. Plus, they got to use GenAI tools to bring their imaginative ideas to life!

Seeing the kids’ creativity shine and the smiles on parents’ faces were truly heartwarming. We can’t wait to share the amazing projects these young creators will come up with. Stay tuned for updates! 🎨
