Chopin Polonaise Op.26 No.1 in C # minor

Being the first of the Polonaise collection, composed in 1836 and dedicated to Josef Dessauer, it is a deeply expressive work marked by intense, Beethovenian vigor. It combines typical 3/4-time polonaise rhythms with a fiery Allegro appassionato opening, featuring descending octaves and dramatic, virtuosic arpeggio figures that lead into a somber, lyrical melody.

Robert Schumann famously described Chopin’s Polonaises as “cannons buried in flowers.” This piece, written shortly after the failed November Uprising in Poland, reflects Chopin’s internal struggle as an exile in Paris.

It is a relatively lengthy and contemplative piece that features a recurring main melody in an ABABCA structure. It begins with a lyrical, decorated melody, followed by sections in B♭ major (B section) and B major (C section), before returning to the main theme and ending with a coda. The piece is known for blending lyrical reflection with emotional outbursts, and it is considered a complex and profound work that showcases a sophisticated synthesis of Polish folk dance elements.

[Piano Duet] Ravel - Ma Mére I’Oye movement III.

法國作曲家拉威爾的「鵝媽媽」共有5個樂章。 分享一段我和朋友最近在8月的施坦威國際比賽中演奏了第三樂章「Laideronette, Impératrice des pagodes（小醜陋的女孩，寶塔的皇后）」。 旋律以F #大調的五音階寫得很好。 你可能會注意到，如果你彈奏鋼琴上的所有黑色鍵，你可以很容易地弄清旋律。

榮幸地，我們獲得了第一名🥇 當中的準備也可以跟大家分享，就是比賽的選曲十分重要。選一些與拍檔能力能同時結合、且符合歌曲的表達、容易且能駕馭的、比起選一些難度、技巧性更高、但自身未能充分駕馭的更具優勢。此曲是我們比賽program中的精華😇

There are 5 movements in Ma Mére l’Oye (Mother Goose) by the French composer Maurice Ravel. We played the third movement “Laideronette, Impératrice des pagodes (Little Ugly Girl, Empress of the Pagodas)” in the Steinway International competition lately in August. The melody is written beautifully in pentatonic scales in F # major. You may notice that if you play all the black keys on the piano, you can figure out the melody easily.
