Does your child's university ranking really matter?
After the US Top 20, the school-name advantage drops fast. The difference between rank #30 and #100+ may matter far less than you think.
Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor Auren Hoffman puts it bluntly: ranking only matters for the top 20. Beyond that, an expensive elite-signaling school holds almost no advantage over a strong state or public university — for jobs or prestige.
