Thank you Mr. Carmelo Ficarra, the Consul General of Italy, for inviting our Italian exchange students to celebrate the Italian National Day with an Operatic Concert “Voci d’Italia” on 1 June.

5月28日，AFS香港與 #共濟會遮打獎學基金（Chater Masonic Scholarship Fund Trust）的董事會成員會面，董事會成員一直以來慷慨支持我們的計劃，讓學生參與為期一年的海外交流。

四位2024-25年度的交流生，分享其於波蘭、比利時、匈牙利及芬蘭所獲得的寶貴收穫—包括個人成長，以及全球視野所帶來的正面影響。董事會成員亦深感欣慰，能親眼見證他們的成長，並觀察到顯著的轉變。

另外四位將於2026-27年度前往阿根廷、比利時及意大利進行探索的「準交流生」，亦向董事會成員分享其對即將到來一年之期望與目標。

On May 28, it was our honour to meet Board members of the Chater Masonic Scholarship Fund Trust, who have been providing generous supports for our scholars to participate in the one-year exchange program. Four returnees shared the positive impacts on personal development and global awareness brought by the life-changing experiences in Poland, Belgium Flanders, Hungary or Finland in 2024/25. Board members were pleased to observe their growth and significant changes.

Moreover, another four scholars, who would explore Argentina, Belgium or Italy in 2026/27, shared with Board members about their expectations and goals for the upcoming year.

May 16th was a wonderful evening celebrating the lasting bonds built over the past nine months among our host students, host families, support contacts, and host schools.🥰

On May 9, 2026 (Lunar March 23), the Tin Hau Birthday brought communities together in a vibrant celebration honoring Tin Hau (Mazu), the patron of the sea.

AFS exchange students Linus and Mirabelle (Switzerland); Vita and Sofia (Italy); Ambroise and Lola (France); as well as Sofia (Spain) and Eda (Turkey) joined the Tin Hau Festival and the procession. They stepped into the rhythm of Hong Kong’s cultural heritage—becoming the dragon and moving through the crowd with energy and joy. By actively participating in the dragon dance, they experienced a living tradition firsthand.

Organized since 1963, this long-standing festival is not only the largest Tin Hau Birthday celebration in Hong Kong, but was also included in the “National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage” in 2021.
