Not as a luxury, but as a skill for emotional safety, learning, and growth — relaxation.
Last weekend I served 50 families in the parent-child yoga workshop. Many parents were surprised about how deeply children need it; and how children actually can do it.
The research is clear:�Calm brains think better — Relaxation isn’t “extra.”
�It fuels memory, empathy, sleep, emotional regulation… and it strengthens the parent–child bond in beautiful, everyday ways.
�Just a few calm minutes (or breaths 🌬️) can transform a child’s behaviour, focus, or mood. We experienced it at the workshop too. 📸
💛 This is why I teach somatic techniques, breathing games, co‑regulation, and sound‑healing practices at Bond To Bloom — because calm isn’t passive.�It’s powerful.

Nearly 90% of parents at my workshop yesterday in a kindergarten, admitted they’d never really thought about how much children need to relax too.�And yet… by the end, they saw it differently.
We often picture childhood as carefree — but today’s kids face pressure, noise, and overstimulation daily.
�💭 What if relaxation isn’t a luxury, but a skill that helps them feel calmer, sleep better, and learn deeper?

👶🏻 In *Child’s Pose*, we reconnect with moments of nurturing and calm, where feelings of grounding and safety come naturally, without needing to earn them.
🤺 In a *Lunge*, we explore balance—rooting down while lifting up and staying centered.
🥨 In a *Twist*, we discover expansion, opening ourselves to new possibilities, and, more importantly, to hope and positive energies.
Last week, during our caregiver yoga workshop at the Parents Resource Centre, which serves parents & caregivers of children with special needs, we cultivated self-care and a sense of support by nurturing our bodies through breath🫁, movement🧚🏻♀️, and stillness 💆🏻♀️. The soothing sounds and healing vibrations of singing bowls elevated our experience. 🥣✨
🌳Carers are like trees, providing shelter and nourishment for the children and family they devote themselves to nurture. Just as trees root deeply in the earth to create a safe & stable home for many living things, with support of the ground, caregivers deserve to receive support and cultivate self-care.
This balance enables them to give love freely while being open to receiving love from their loved ones, allowing them to enjoy a lifelong bond with those they cherish. Bond, to bloom, together as a family. 🌼
Receiving support isn’t a sign of weakness but instead, is a hero badge for selfcare & a role model for our children in having compassion for ourselves & agency to overcome challenges.
