Alumni are warmly invited to bring along family and friends, slow down, step into the countryside, and enjoy a different kind of weekend. 🌿🌞🌾
We'll be visiting So Kwun Wat Village in Tuen Mun – a historic walled farming village🏡 with over 300 years of heritage. Set aside the daily rush and rediscover simple, authentic joy in the fields.🌱👩🌾
Led by an experienced local farmer, you'll learn about organic farming, try planting and fertilising 🌿🧑🌾 and take part in a Hakka glutinous rice dumpling-making session, enjoy the traditional flavours & hands-on fun ✨

【Alumni Interest Clubs】With the arrival of early summer, the Culture and Heritage Tours Club and the Foodie Club had an “Eco-Cultural Tour @ Tai O”! ⛰️🌊 More than 30 participants delved into the community’s rich history and culture and enjoyed a boat ride to soak up the charm of this fishing village. 🛶 They not only captured many memorable moments, but also savoured a seaside lunch and joined a traditional Cha Guo workshop, giving their taste buds a truly satisfying treat! 📸😋

【 #以理為榮 】 #理的故事 23:吳穎思與李凱迪的小管大志

鬧市裡,你我他手握一杯手搖茶飲,邊走邊「chill」已成日常;可是享受背後,卻得背負每年高達14.4億支即棄飲管造成的廢料。面對這個驚人數字,理大校友吳穎思(Vincy)與李凱迪(Eddie)創立「綠壹研究所」,用設計打破習慣,令減廢也變得有型。
「為什麼飲管不能打開來清洗?」兩人一個破格念頭,成就了「壹對飲管」,更把「墨爾本設計大獎」、「香港智營設計大賞」、「澳洲優良設計獎」、「韓國好設計獎」等成雙成對收入囊中。Vincy與Eddie很懂用家的心聲:「壹對飲管」輕輕一拆就可打開清洗內部,免刷毛、免煩惱,直接把細菌隱憂丟出局。此外,產品頂端採用安全圓角,底端保留較尖設計,方便大家「篤檸檬」和刺穿手搖杯膜,貼合日常使用習慣。他們選用100%可回收食品級塑膠,比起高溫製造的不鏽鋼飲管,碳足跡更低、實用度更高,實踐「只要用得對,塑膠價值就能延長」的理念。
兩位的創業之旅,與理大密不可分。兩人同在工業及系統工程學系取得學士學位,Eddie並於電子計算學系攻讀碩士;兩位沒有父幹的九十後,憑藉「理大微型基金」獲得第一桶金,讓綠色點子落地成真。Eddie坦言母校是創業的強大後盾:「以碩士課程為例,學習內容結合創新科技與商業管理,助我把理論和實踐串連起來,為創業打下穩固基礎。」
當然,創業從不是浪漫童話。研發期間,他們經歷五十多次推倒重來,而疫情時廠房轉為製造口罩,更令飲管生產線陷入停頓。面對難關,他們發揮靈活變通的韌性,轉戰本地市集,並走入校園舉辦環保工作坊,透過太陽能小夜燈、永生苔蘚畫、環保紅磚、有機蔬菜種植等活動,把綠色設計的種子撒向社區與下一代。
從一支小小的飲管開始,Vincy與Eddie一步步踐行綠色使命,還有母校作為「創新型大學」的願景。「創業的機會可能只有一次,既然有想法,就要盡力一試。」如這一對所言,只要敢於破舊立新,大家都能把知識轉化成影響力,讓小改變匯成浪,推動大世界。
