「Decode」可解作解構——一種把事物打開、拆解、重新理解的態度。

聲音是一種既日常又古老的媒介，由人透過設計介面（interface），主導創造聲音的體驗與過程。每一種介面都內置一套「如何發聲」的邏輯：手如何接觸、力如何施放、訊號如何被轉換。以傳統木管樂器為例，手指的按壓、呼氣的力度、氣流方向與口型共同構成了「發聲」的方程式。聲音因此不只是一個結果，而是一套由人類設計、並由身體啟動的行為系統。

今次展覽Decode 3.0邀請四位藝術家Adonian Chan、Andio Lai、Chaklam Ng和Sky Kung，各自從不同的研究方向重新理解、探索「聲音可以如何被觸發」。他們透過自訂的介面、感知邏輯與行為模式，提出四種各異的方式，實驗「發聲」與「聆聽」。

"Decode" can be understood as deconstructing—a way of unfolding, dismantling, and reinterpreting things.

Sound is an everyday and ancient medium, where people guide the creation and experience of sound through designed interfaces. Each interface contains an inherent logic of "how to produce sound": how the hands make contact, how force is exerted, and how signals are transformed. Taking traditional woodwind instruments as an example, the pressing of fingers, the force of breath, the direction of airflow, and the embouchure together constitute the equation of "sound production." Therefore, sound is not just an outcome but a system of actions designed by humans and activated by the body.

The current exhibition, “Decode 3.0”, invites four artists—Adonian Chan, Andio Lai, Chaklam Ng, and Sky Kung—each to reinterpret and explore "how sound can be triggered" from different perspectives. Through customized interfaces, perceptual logic, and behavioral patterns, they propose four distinct ways to experiment with "sound production" and "listening."

In the everyday moments of life, what creativity and thought can arise when combining technology like conductive ink, 3D models and augmented reality?

Seven local artists are bringing art technology into five local secondary schools, guiding students to discover the objects and sounds around them. Through this exploration, students created unexpected artworks, gaining a fresh perspective on their identities and community relationships.

These works will be featured in the exhibition "Sensing Presence." Stay tuned for more details
