Today we’re diving into the second page of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto.🎻

Keeping it at a slow tempo to lock in the intonation and bowing patterns. It takes patience, but this is where the real progress happens.

By focusing on the relationship between the solo line and the symphonic structure, we build a much stronger performance. Stay tuned for the next 98 steps!

Teaching the Mendelssohn E Minor isn’t just about the solo line—it’s about understanding how that line fits into the full symphonic texture. 🎼
In lesson 1/100, we are stripping it back to a slow tempo. I’m playing the 2nd violin part to help my student lock in the pulse and hear the inner harmonies of the first page.
Mastery starts at half-speed. Stay tuned for the next 99 steps!
