🗡️This weekend, three of our finest Year 6 gladiators stepped into the digital arena for the event that stops the nation: The Annual ESF E-Sports Tournament!

🏟️The stakes were astronomical. The atmosphere was thick with strategy, tension, and intensely concentrated screen-time. Within the opening minutes, it was an absolute bloodbath!

😳They surged, they stumbled, and with mere seconds left on the clock, victory seemed statistically impossible.

🤫That’s when our chaperone unleashed the ultimate coaching masterstroke, whispering: “Guys, just try to hit the buttons faster.”

💥AND WE ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED EVERYONE!

Against all physical and digital odds, Peak School won the whole thing! Our Peakies are officially the reigning, undisputed Champions of the ESF E-Sports universe! (And yes, they received a pretty big trophy).

As Reading is one of our key strategic priorities this year, Peak School partnered with .literacy to provide for our teachers a weeklong CPD based on the latest science of reading research. Among many topics covered, literacy strategist Austin Wellman skilfully led each of our year level team to take a deep dive into creating coherent text sets that supported our learners’ units of inquiry knowledge building and literacy skill development. Teachers are excited to incorporate these curated text sets into the upcoming UOIs through read alouds and shared reading opportunities.

Peak School was also delighted to share this week of rich literacy learning with several other ESF schools, many of whom are now eager to implement what they learned in their own school contexts. Thank you teachers for modeling such enthusiasm and curiosity as learners throughout the week!

✨The competition was fierce, with every house giving their all. A huge thank you to our amazing parents for cheering on the athletes and even creating house shirts to show their spirit, your support made the day extra special.

🌍Meanwhile, Year 6 journeyed across the globe with Ann Morgan, who shared her fascinating experience of reading a book from every country, inspiring our students to celebrate diverse stories and see how reading connects people worldwide.

🍅From harvesting fresh organic veggies straight from the garden to kneading their very own pizza dough, the kids got hands-on with every step of the process.

✨The best part? Creating delicious pizzas topped with the greens they picked themselves.
