Weekly small group gatherings aren't just a place to connect—they're a supply station. A place to be refueled, to be reminded, and to carry on practising our faith in our everyday life. 🙌

📝 在做任何事之前，先禱告！

親愛的馬鞍峰教會家人,

在日常生活中，禱告佔了多少位置？我們很容易將禱告留到最後——在我們擔憂過、計劃過、嘗試了各種方法之後。但上週末再次提醒我們：禱告不是我們的最後一步，而是我們的起點。

在「活出大使命」系列中，我們看見上帝渴望在我們的生命中、並透過我們的生命動工。當我們將人際關係、掛慮和所愛的人帶到祂面前，我們便為上帝騰出空間，讓祂成就唯有祂能成就的事。

Simone 傳道分享喬治・慕勒的見證，令我很受感動。面對照顧孤兒的許多實際需要，他沒有直接向人募款，而是持續帶到上帝面前禱告。他不是被動地等待；他忠心照顧孩子，盡己所能，卻選擇首先仰望上帝。

🙏 這星期，當你想急著找到最恰當的說話或解決方法時，先將一位你深深關心、卻仍未認識上帝的人帶到祂面前。讓我們求上帝親自吸引他們靠近耶穌，也引導我們如何好好愛他們。

親愛的天父，感謝祢看見我們生命中每一個需要，也看見我們所愛之人的需要。求祢教導我們先尋求祢，在看不見前路時信靠祢的智慧；並以平安、信心和忍耐充滿我們。奉耶穌的名，阿們。

這個週末，讓我們帶著期待相聚，並邀請一位可能需要經歷耶穌盼望的朋友同行。

📝 Before you do anything else, pray

Dear Saddleback Family,

How much space does prayer have in your everyday life? It is easy to leave prayer until the end—after we have worried, planned, and tried every other option. But last weekend reminded us again: prayer is not our last resort; it is where we begin.

In our Live Sent series, we are learning that God wants to work in and through our lives. When we bring our relationships, concerns, and the people we love before Him, we make room for God to do what only He can do.

I was deeply moved by Pastor Simone’s sharing about George Müller. As he faced many practical needs while caring for orphaned children, he did not simply ask people for money; he kept bringing those needs to God in prayer. He was not passive—he faithfully cared for the children and did what he could, but he chose to look to God first.

🙏 This week, before rushing to find the perfect words or fix a situation, bring before God one person you deeply love who is still far from Him. Ask God to draw them close to Jesus and show you how to love them well.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You see every need in our lives and in the lives of those we love. Teach us to seek You first and trust Your wisdom when we cannot see the way forward. Fill us with peace, faith, and patience as we keep praying. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This weekend, come expectant—and bring a friend who may need to experience the hope of Jesus.

「我必親自和你同去，使你得安息。」—— 出埃及記 33:14

At the start of this school year, we pray for students, teachers, and parents. In the midst of burdens and pressures, may we hold fast to God’s promise:

“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” — Exodus 33:14

📝 當言語變得無力時，愛依然在訴說

親愛的馬鞍峰教會家人,

在一個充滿令人難過消息的世界裡，耶穌邀請我們去傳遞祂的好消息——不單透過言語，更透過我們在別人有需要時願意陪伴。

上個週末，胡安迪牧師提醒我們：我們被造，不只是為自己而活。耶穌差遣我們，將祂的盼望、醫治和幫助帶進上帝賜給我們的關係和處境中。

當有人受傷時，我們未必有完美的回應或即時的答案；但我們仍可以聆聽、禱告、唱一首敬拜詩歌，或分享一節經文。上帝的話語能帶來我們自己無法給予的盼望和安慰，提醒人們上帝看顧他們、與他們親近，也沒有忘記他們。

🙏 這星期，邀請你背誦一節曾經堅固你的聖經經文。你未必知道摯愛的親友、同事或鄰居何時需要鼓勵；當言語變得無力時，一節懷著愛分享的經文，或許正是他們需要聽見的話。

讓我們也為受傷、哀傷或感到迷失的人禱告。願我們在別人需要幫助時能及時出現，並願聖靈以耶穌的心思意念充滿我們，使我們成為社區中的好消息。

親愛的上帝，感謝祢看顧每一個人，也深知我們所承擔的一切重擔。今天我們將受傷或迷失的人帶到祢面前，求祢以安慰和平安環繞他們。求祢的靈充滿我們，賜我們屬靈的眼光看見身邊的人，並幫助我們勇敢且滿有憐憫地分享祢的愛。奉耶穌的名，阿們。

教會家人，我很愛你們。我目前身在森林湖主堂，下週將會探訪溫哥華的教會家人。請為 Rosanna 和我禱告，讓我們尋求上帝的帶領，以及祂想要我們與教會家人分享的生命話語。

雖然這個週末我無法與你們相聚，但我鼓勵你們參加聚會，並帶一位朋友來，讓我們繼續一同學習過著被差遣的生活。我很期待兩週後與你們再見。

📝 When words fall short, love still speaks

Dear Saddleback Family,

In a world that can feel full of difficult news, Jesus invites us to carry His good news—not only through our words, but also through the way we show up for people.

This past weekend, Pastor Andy Wood reminded us that we are made for more than simply living for ourselves. Jesus sends us to bring His hope, healing, and help into the relationships and places God has given us.

When someone is hurting, we may not have the perfect words or immediate answers. But we can still offer a listening ear, a prayer, a worship song, or a verse of Scripture. God’s Word can bring a hope and comfort that our own words cannot; it can remind people that God sees them, is near to them, and has not forgotten them.

🙏 This week, I want to encourage you to memorise one Bible verse that has strengthened you. You may not know when a loved one, colleague, or neighbour will need encouragement. When words fall short, a verse shared with love may be exactly what someone needs to hear.

Let us also pray for those who are hurting, grieving, or feeling lost. May we be available when someone needs a helping hand, and may the Holy Spirit fill us with the heart and mind of Jesus so that we can become good news in our community.

Dear God, thank You that You see every person and know every burden we carry. We lift up those who are hurting or feeling lost today. Surround them with Your comfort and peace. Fill us with Your Spirit, give us eyes to see the people around us, and help us share Your love with courage and compassion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Church family, I love you so much. I am currently in Lake Forest and will be visiting our Vancouver family next week. Please pray for Rosanna and me as we seek God’s direction and the life-giving words He wants us to share with our beloved church family.

Although I will miss being with you this weekend, I encourage you to join us and bring a friend as we continue learning to live sent together. I look forward to seeing you again in two weeks.

上帝喺我哋每一個人嘅生命裡面都有獨特嘅計劃；即使經歷痛苦、傷害、失落，佢都唔會浪費任何一段旅程。每一個微小嘅經歷，都可以成為其他人得救嘅故事，讓人透過我哋嘅生命見到神。🙌🏻💫

God has a unique plan for each of our lives. When we surrender to Him, even the smallest experiences — pain, hurt, despair, — can become stories and testimonies that bring salvation to others. 🙌🏻💫
