👋🏻Happy Friday and well done mamas for completing another week of homeschooling! 🎉🎉
🧸Here is a simple hide-and-seek type of game you can play at home during the weekend:
☀️The Hot-Cold game☃️
👉🏻First you’ll need something to hide. It can be anything: a stuffed toy, a pen or even a tiny bead!
👉🏻Let’s say you’re hiding a keychain. First ask the child (or one of the children if you’re playing as a group) to leave the room so that another person can hide the keychain.
👉🏻Once the hiding is done, call your child back into the room and ask him to find the keychain. As he gets closer to the hidden keychain, shout “warmer”, if he moves further away, say “colder”. So the point is the closer he is, the hotter the temperature gets, and the further he goes, the colder it gets.
👉🏻You can use other words such as freezing, lukewarm, hot, ice cold, burning hot, on fire, etc.
👉🏻When he successfully finds the keychain, it will be his turn to hide it while you (or someone else) leave the room.
😎Happy searching!

What’s the weather like?
Are you tired of just using sunny☀️, cloudy ☁️and rainy ☂️to answer the above question? Try using these variations:
👉🏻Words relating to the weather:
stormy⛈, foggy🌫, windy💨, humid💧, dry🔥, breezy🌬, wet💦
👉🏻Words relating to temperature:
hot🔥, warm, cool, cold, freezing❄️,
👉🏻Words relating to rain:
drizzle🌦, showers, rain, downpour🌧
Examples:
⚡️Monday was warm and humid.
⚡️It was so foggy that we couldn’t see the buildings.
⚡️The weatherman predicted a downpour but luckily it was only a drizzle.
⚡️Today is a perfect day for hiking, it’s cool and breezy.
Have fun building your own sentences!🌤

🧩Riddles are fun and provide an opportunity to learn new words, and can even help to improve thinking ability and creativity in children.
⛳️Here are a few short and easy riddles for you to try with your child:
🧐Where can you find cities, towns, shops, and streets but no people?
💡A map.
🧐I am an odd number. Take away a letter and I become even. What number am I?
💡Seven.
🧐What begins with T, finishes with T, and has T in it?
💡A teapot
Have fun exercising the brain! 💪🏻

📚Today is World Book Day and we'd like to share a meaningful story you can read with/to your child. Happy reading!🤩
📖The story of a rose and a cactus
Once upon a time, there was a rose🌹 who was very proud of its beauty. However, it was angry and disappointed that it was growing next to an ugly cactus🌵. Every day, the rose would insult the cactus about its looks, but the cactus didn’t say a word. The other plants in the garden 🌿🌱🌾tried to stop the rose from bullying the cactus, but the rose didn’t listen to anyone. ☀️On one hot summer day, there was no water for the plants and the rose began to wither🥀. The cactus saw that and offered some water to the rose. The rose accepted and felt ashamed for having made fun of the kind cactus all this time. The rose apologised for its behaviour and they both got through summer as good friends🌹🌵.
💡Moral of the story:
🔹Never judge someone by the way they look
🔹You will never regret being kind 🥰
Happy World Book Day! 🥳

👑Cultivating a growth mindset has been linked to greater happiness and achievement in life. When children know their brains are capable of growing, amazing things can happen!
👉🏻Here are some questions we can ask at home to instil a growth mindset in our children:
🌟 What did you learn today?
🌟 How did you help someone today?
🌟 What are you grateful for?
🌟 What made you laugh today?
🌟 What mistake did you make today? (if they are reluctant to talk about it, try sharing one of yours first)
🌟 What do you wish to dream about tonight?
🌟 What would make tomorrow great?
🚀They will be practicing a growth mindset without even knowing it! 🥰

Another week of homeschooling is about to begin. Let’s embrace it with a growth mindset🌻
🌱A growth mindset is the belief that our basic abilities can be developed and improved through dedication and hard work. Learning how to fail well and knowing that learning from failure is what leads to eventual success, is crucial.
👦🏻👧🏻Children that have a growth mindset:
🧠Are keen to learn from people around them
🧠Understand that getting what they want or learning new skills requires putting in effort
🧠Are aware of their weaknesses and are focused on improving them
🧠Welcome challenges and are open to new things.
In our next post, we’ll be sharing some questions we can ask at home to instill a growth mindset in our children, stay tuned! 👋🏻👋🏻

🎉It’s the weekend so let’s play a game that improves language development and encourages your child to speak English.
The game is called "I spy with my little eye..." and this is how we play it:
👀Choose an object that you can see, for example a clock⏰
🚩Say “I spy with my little eye something beginning with C”
🚩or “I spy with my little eye something red”
🚩or “I spy with my little eye something which chimes”
🚩 or “I spy with my little eye something that gives us the time”
👧🏻👦🏻Your child will then have to guess the word. Take turns and show your child different ways to describe an object.
👋🏻Remember to use your eyes, ears and nose, and most importantly your imagination… Have a great weekend! 🧚🏻

👉🏻You can try:
🎯Well done
🎯Impressive
🎯Nice
🎯Marvellous
🎯Great
🎯Superb
🎯Amazing
🎯Excellent
🎯Astounding
Happy Learning! Happy Friday! 🎉🎉

🗣Today, I’d like to share two funny tongue twisters. Cambridge dictionary defines a tongue twister as “a sentence or phrase that is intended to be difficult to say, especially when repeated quickly and often”
👉🏻Try them out with your kids and see who can recite them faster.
Have a good laugh and at the same time, help your kids improve their English pronunciation! 🥳🥳

小朋友成個幾月唔使返學點算?可以試下玩呢個遊戲學英文:
Let’s learn new words and new spellings through play:
👉🏻Take 10 post-its or cut out 10 pieces of paper.
👉🏻Pick and choose 10 furnitures/ items around the house and write down the name of each one on a piece of paper.
👉🏻Give a random one to your child and get him/her to run around the house to find the correct furniture/ item and stick the paper on.
👉🏻Keep going until you run out of paper or your child runs out of energy🤪
👉🏻Remember to take turns and swap roles, and let your child test you the next round.
👉🏻If you don’t mind the mess, you can leave the papers on the furnitures/ items so your child sees them more and practices spelling them. Learning can be fun!🙃
💭Running out of words? Here are some suggestions for you:
✏️ Bay Window (窗台)✏️ Bookshelf (書架) ✏️ Light Switch (燈掣)✏️ Wardrobe (衣櫃) ✏️ Washing Machine (洗衣機) ✏️ Carpet (地毯) ✏️ Photo frame (相架) ✏️Door k**b/ door handle (門柄) ✏️Cushion (咕𠱸) ✏️Mirror (鏡)
各位媽媽不妨試下!加油! 💪🏻
