Find A Tutor Hong Kong is Hong Kong's No.1 tution platorm. Looking for a private tutor? Or private students? http://findatutor.com.hk
indATutor.com.hk users. Standing apart from existing agencies, FindaTutor.com.hk is a website in the Hong Kong education market that does not charge commission to private tutors or learning centres using it to advertise their services. Instead, FindATutor.com.hk charges a minimal monthly payment starting at $50 HKD, less than a couple of coffees, to private tutors and learning centres. For this small amount, they will gain lifelong membership to the website. The service is free for students to find a tutor. FindATutor.com.hk is the brainchild of Carl Browne, a graduate in International Relations and Law from the University of Kent and currently an Academic Tutor at the Unversity of Hong Kong. Browne, who has taught English in Asia for a number of years, spotted a gap in the market after moving to Hong Kong and struggling to find an open platform where tutors could advertise their services. Browne commented: "When I first moved to Hong Kong, I needed to promote my services as a private tutor but, while I was happy to pay some money to advertise, I really didn't want to pay large amounts of commission to an agency which then retained control of the communication with students and parents.
'I am passionate about making FindATutor.com.hk the tuition resource hub for Hong Kong. Like no other website, it plugs a gap in the Hong Kong market and allows private tutors and learning centres to advertise their services through multimedia channels and then communicate directly with the enquirer.
'Furthermore, due to the nature of the advanced and specific search functionality, it allows students very easily to find a good tutor, based on comments from other users. Findatutor is unique in enabling students an exact match for their requirements." To mark its launch, FindATutor.com.hk is running a prize draw promotion, which will
take place when the website reaches 5,000 private tutor registrations. Five lucky winners will have their university tuition fees in Hong Kong paid for a year. For winners who are not studying at a university in Hong Kong, a prize of equivalent value will be awarded. Professor Ian Holliday, former Dean of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong, commented on the launch of FindATutor.com.hk: "This is the website Hong Kong has been waiting for."
