It was so good to be able to honestly share our struggles with submitting to authority figures in our lives! One of the best things we heard last night is that when God asks us to submit to him and we ask why, he doesn’t say “Because I said so” but “Because you can trust me” 🥹

Growing up, our parents/caregivers gave many of us tasks around the house that felt repetitive and, at times, pointless. Take out the trash. Do the dishes. Clean your room. And as soon as we finished these chores, they all needed to be done again. The constant and never-ending list of tasks felt utterly meaningless.

Even as adults, we can think of life as a meaningless list of tasks —the book of Ecclesiastes isn’t shy about talking about that feeling, instead addresses our frustrations head-on. Week 1, we’ll look at chapter 1 to help us think about life’s “meaninglessness” and see what wisdom it offers about where to go when we feel overwhelmed by the apparent futility of life.

Life is a gift, but it rarely turns out how we expect. We’re convinced things like wealth, power, fame, and control will give us meaning and lead us to a flourishing life—but, every time, they let us down. So where do we go when the bottom falls out? Where do we turn when things are going great but we still feel empty?

NEW TO HONG KONG? 🇭🇰 Want to familiarise yourself with HK’s public transport while exploring the city? Join us on a scavenger hunt around HK Island! 🗺️We will be splitting into teams and completing challenges at different MTR stops.
