Vanessa (13 years old)

Vanessa was painting a village she visited in Italy after returning from her holiday.

She has made impressive improvement after the landscape art projects, where we explored artists including Monet and David Hockney. Children learned concepts of expressing space and fundamental 3D drawing.

We simply traced the pattern of shadow and light made by the morning sun streaming through the coloured glass.And then painted our shadow tracings.

It has been the greatest pleasure being an art teachers, teaching creativity and innovation. I focus on teaching multiple answers to problems and encourage mistakes and experimentation. Most of all I teach students to be thinkers – not memorizers.

Painting offers them a way to express their feelings through the use of colours, lines, shapes, and textures, even the act of making a mess.
