We are thrilled to see CIC graduates continue to excel in university and beyond! 🌟 Vo Dinh Huy Nguyen, CIC ’20 and recent graduate from the Schulich School of Business, has been awarded the Governor General’s Silver Medal, recognizing his outstanding scholastic achievements! 🎓

When Nguyen first came to CIC in 2020, he focused solely on academics, avoiding extracurriculars. However, inspired by friends who balanced both successfully, he decided to get more involved. He joined various teams and clubs, becoming a Student Council executive leader, a Model UN team member, and a peer tutor in English, Math, and Business.

He also participated in competitions, earning accolades like the Best Delegate Award at the CIC MUN conference and placing in the Top 5 at the McMaster High School Business Heroes Competition.

His time at Schulich was marked by multiple competition wins and active community involvement, including serving as president of the Schulich Accounting Society and mentoring hundreds of students. In May 2024, Nguyen graduated from Schulich with the highest GPA in his cohort, specializing in accounting.

The Governor General’s Academic Medals are the highest honor for exemplary Canadian scholars. Nguyen credits his success to his supportive parents and sees the award as a testament to his journey as an international student.

Nguyen is now enrolled in Schulich’s Master of Accounting program, aiming for a CPA designation, and will start a full-time job at Deloitte Toronto in September.

🎨🔬 🌟 From making comics to conducting experiments, our summer campers are unleashing their creativity and exploring new horizons!

✨Since arriving at CIC in October 2023, Yanan Ke has started strong and aimed high. He shares how he has achieved almost perfect marks in his G12 courses so far.

📚 Next semester, Yanan plans to take G12 English and Chemistry, and he’s setting his sights on Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto. 🌟 Let’s wish him continued success!

Meet Zhangyuan (Jack) Wu, CIC ’24, who loves tackling challenges, engaging in deep conversations, and sharing new ideas with people around him. With exceptional academic performance in both arts and science subjects, he became the perfect candidate for many top universities. Now, he’s on his way to his dream school: the University of British Columbia!

I see happiness as the most important thing in my life. Having a pleasant studying atmosphere, and making friends with polite, talented, and thoughtful people are the things that would make me happy.

I greatly enjoy my new life in Canada. My life at CIC was busy but also full of happiness. I have some old friends at CIC, and I also made many new friends at the same time. They brought me wonderful memories.

To meet the requirements of as many university programs as possible, I took four courses each semester, including Grade 12 English and Grade 11 and 12 Physics and Chemistry. These courses were all very challenging for me. I often stayed up late to review fundamental knowledge or complete assignments.

The secret to my high scores was completing exercises assigned by teachers and watching YouTube video courses during my spare time.

🌞 These Grade 6-8 students are not just having fun; they’re learning valuable life skills in CIC summer camp!

🍕 From making pizzas and doing laundry to managing schedules and improving English and teamwork skills, they’re expanding their comfort zones every day.

We’re excited to see them grow in a safe, caring and enriching environment! 🌟

Arts and crafts, science, robotics, music, sports, cooking, trips … young campers from around the world are having an unforgettable adventure! 🎨🔬🤖🎶🏀🍳🚌 Stay tuned for more fun moments from next week’s talent show and Eastern Canada tour! 🌟
