We were delighted to hold our annual Swimming Gala on 25th September. The event showcased the remarkable talent and determination of our students who competed with great sportsmanship and strength throughout the day. From individual races to team relays, every performance reflected the dedication of every participant that defines our community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, teachers, supporting groups and clubs for their invaluable contributions. Congratulations to our winners and to every swimmer who gave their best.

[S4 Leadership Talk]

The S4 Leadership Talk was successfully held, providing S4 students with valuable perspectives on leadership from their senior peers. The event was moderated by emcee Adrian Chan (5E) and featured presentations from five distinguished student leaders, each sharing their unique experiences.

Mith Chan (6F), our former Student Union President, shared his valuable experience in serving the entire student body and spearheading major school events. His talk was a masterclass in school leadership!

The second speaker was Matthew Fung (6D), the former President of the Chinese Cultural Society. He delivered an inspirational speech about his journey in Scouting and the Society, inspiring students to be good leaders.

The third speaker was Tobias Wong (5D), Chairperson of the ECA Committee, who shared a practical perspective on leading diverse teams and fostering passion across our many clubs and societies. A true lesson in collaborative spirit!

The penultimate speaker was Neeson Chan (5F), President of the VEAPT, whose talk captivated everyone with the different events he has participated in. His passion was truly contagious!

Lastly, Jake Chiu (5E), Captain of the basketball team, shared with students what it takes to be a good leader and the right attitudes to have.

The talk concluded that leadership is multifaceted and can be developed through various channels. It was well received by students, who demonstrated strong engagement and appreciation for the insights shared.

[59th Joint School Science Exhibition (JSSE)]

We are honoured to announce that our school team has been awarded the Champion in the Joint School Science Exhibition Proposal Competition and overall 1st runner-up in the 59th Joint School Science Exhibition (18–24 Aug, HK Central Library).

Being a long-time participant of the oldest inter-school STEAM-themed competition in Hong Kong, our school team entered JSSE this year with our project “MagSorb”, utilizing Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) and Activated Carbon (AC) to produce a product capable of cleaning drug and steroid molecules in fish ponds.

Congratulations to the project holders Yeung Terrance, Hung Kin Hei Marcus, Leung Ka Him Zack and Lo Wang Chi Ethan on their accomplishments, and extend our gratitude to all teacher advisors, project holders from previous iterations of the JSSE, as well as all Demonstrators for their advice and support.

PMLP Summer Programme Highlights Corporate World and AI Literacy
Congratulations to 4F students Spark Yam and Sunny Zou for successfully completing the PMLP Summer Programme, organised by Solomon Learning. The initiative offered students a unique opportunity to develop their financial skills and AI literacy while gaining direct exposure to business fundamentals, corporate operations and professional networking.
A key highlight of the programme was a business pitch competition, where participants collaborated to solve real-world business challenges using artificial intelligence. Throughout the process, Spark and Sunny sharpened their communication, public speaking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while exploring how emerging technology drives modern business solutions.
The programme also featured exclusive interactive sessions with executive leaders from major global organisations, including Citibank, Warner Chappell Music, Pop Mart, and LinkedIn. These industry insiders shared valuable perspectives on career pathways, leadership, and essential skills for an evolving job market. Beyond gaining executive insights, students expanded their peer networks and forged new connections with participants from diverse backgrounds.
The experience culminated in a formal gala dinner at the Nina Hotel, providing students with a practical setting to refine their professional etiquette and interpersonal skills.
The school is very proud of Spark and Sunny for taking on this enriching opportunity. We look forward to seeing how they leverage these newfound skills, insights, and experiences in their future academic and personal endeavours.

[Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme]

Congratulations to our students for their outstanding achievement in the Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme. Neeson Chen from class 5F, appointed in 2025, was awarded the silver medal for dedicating over 100 hours of voluntary service throughout the 2025/26 year, demonstrating an incredible dedication and community spirit. Joining him in this distinction is Thaddeus Yeung from class 5F, who has been newly appointed for 2026.

Co-organised by the Tourism Commission of the HKSAR Government and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups since 2001, the scheme is committed to nurturing a new generation of passionate young people as hospitable ambassadors, cultivating courtesy, service excellence, and a deep appreciation for local culture. To prepare for their mission, ambassadors undergo a series of training sessions during the summer holidays, including expert talks, site visits, and practical service skills workshops covering customer service, storytelling, and tour guiding techniques. Upon completing their training, appointed ambassadors dedicate their service term to being stationed at major tourist spots, assisting at major international events, and designing community-based projects. Over the past year, ambassadors have served at iconic locations and major events like the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Fencing World Championships 2026. We congratulate Neeson and Thaddeus on their dedication as welcoming ambassadors for Hong Kong.

[S1 Opening Ceremony]

We were delighted to officially welcome our new Form 1 students at the Opening Ceremony held on 1st September. The ceremony began with an encouraging speech from our Principal, Mr TM Kwok, who shared heartfelt words of wisdom to inspire our youngest Josephians as they embark on this new chapter of their journey.

Following the Principal's speech, an orientation session led by four of our senior students: Ethan Ma and Jayden Yap from 3E, Angus Cheung from 6F, and Jaden Leung from 6A. They offered an insightful introduction to daily school life, covering everything from timetables and subject expectations to the diversity of clubs and extracurricular activities available. Upcoming school events were also shared, giving our S1 students a glimpse of the vibrant and dynamic campus culture that awaits them.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Uniform Groups - including the 1st HKG Scout Troop, 1st HKG Air Scout Troop, Hong Kong Red Cross Youth Unit 17, and the St. Joseph's Ambulance Cadet Division for their dedicated support throughout the event. Our special thanks also go to our Masters of Ceremony, Isaac Lee from 4F and Joshua Chan from , for their professionalism and composure in guiding the proceedings seamlessly.

We hope this ceremony has given our newcomers a warm and encouraging start to their SJC journey. May they find joy in learning, strength in brotherhood, and the courage to reach their fullest potential in the years ahead.
