Lecture 3 — 大數據的智能演繹

人人都可以進行數據分析，但不是人人都能從數據中提取正確的科學知識。

由中大全新本科課程「計算數據科學」呈獻的「中大公開講座系列2022」第三講，將以「大數據的智能演繹」為題，介紹一些把大數據轉換為「智能數據」的簡單而重要的規則，討論依賴密集計算的大數據分析的利與弊。是次演講涵蓋的主題包括差分隱私、缺失數據處理和馬爾可夫鏈蒙特卡羅演算法。

講座當然少不了介紹這個將於2022-23學年推出的新課程啦！歡迎中三至中六學生、老師及家長參加。

Lecture 3 — From Big Data to Smart Data

Everyone can do data analysis, but not everyone can extract the correct science from data.

The third lecture of CUHK Public Lecture Series 2022 will be presented by the new CUHK undergraduate programme 'Computational Data Science'. In this talk, the speaker will present some simple, yet not trivial, rules that guide us to convert big data to "smart data". We will also discuss the curses and blessings of computer-intensive big data analysis. Topics covered in this talk include differential privacy, missing data handling and Markov chain Monte Carlo.

The talk will be concluded by introducing the brand-new academic programme. Secondary 3 to 6 students, teachers and parents are welcome.
