Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) is pleased to form a strategic partnership with Cyberport Hong Kong , focusing on talent development ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป, industry-academic collaboration ๐Ÿค, and emerging technologies๐Ÿ’ก. Together, we will expand internship and career opportunities, co-develop industry-based academic projects, and facilitate knowledge exchange ๐Ÿ”„ to support Hong Kongโ€™s AI and digital technology ecosystem.

Witnessed by Prof. Sun D**g, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry; Prof. Catherine Sun Tien-lun, Senior Vice President of HKSYU; and Mr Simon Chan, Chairman of Cyberport, the MoU was signed by Dr Jason Chow Tak-sang, Vice President (University Administration) of HKSYU and Dr Rocky Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of Cyberport. ๐ŸŽ‰

HKSYU also participated as the Digital Humanities Partner at the โ€œDigital Entertainment Leadership Forum 2026โ€ (28โ€“30 August), Cyberportโ€™s annual flagship event. The Universityโ€™s Industrial Attachment Office presented research outcomes using technologies such as AR, offering visitors insights into the Universityโ€™s latest advancements in digital humanities. In addition, HKSYU showcased capstone projects ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŽจfrom the โ€œBachelor of Arts (Hons) in Media Design and Immersive Technologyโ€ programme under the Department of Journalism and Communication. ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿฅฝ

Alice Wong, a Year 4 Digital Marketing student, completed a credit-bearing with Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel last summer.
A few key takeaways from her internship journey:

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œDuring my internship at Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel as an HR Intern, I assisted in in internal communication and administrative tasks, including producing employee guidelines and designing promotional materials for staff events.

Among those initiatives, my co-ordination of a project called โ€œProject We Canโ€ was especially meaningful. I guided secondary students to experience real workplace life and supported them in adapting to the company environment. Seeing them become more confident, gave me a strong sense of accomplishment and taught me the importance of patience, communication, and teamwork. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿป

This internship gave me the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, helped me develop diverse abilities, and better prepared me for my future career.

I am grateful for this opportunity and thankful to everyone who supported and guided me throughout the internship. โ€๐Ÿ’ก

This July, we had the pleasure of visiting HKSYU student interns, internship host companies and administrative district offices in Shanghai.๐ŸŒ†

Our roaring interns took on exciting roles at reputable marketing agencies,๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธcartoon character IP companies,๐ŸŽจ innovation and technology hubs,๐Ÿš€ as well as subdistrict offices.๐Ÿ™๏ธ From marketing, PR, and design to accounting, and district and community services, they embraced new challenges and gained valuable hands-on experience in the cosmopolitan city.

๐ŸŒŸ More than just an internship, their one-month stay in Shanghai was a journey of growth, discovery, and learning.๐ŸŒฑThey explored a vibrant new city and built professional connections. Many described the experience as rewarding and unforgettable!
