Relocation Closure of the Tin Ka Ping Education Library

The Education Library on 8/F Meng Wah Complex will be closed from 1 June 2023.

Users may visit the Main Library or Chi Wah Learning Commons for study space.

𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 / 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 (𝟓 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 & 𝟏𝟓-𝟏𝟖 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐)

Main Library includes the Collaboration Zone & Study Zone (Level 3) and Overnight Open Area (Library Counter), and Fung Ping Shan Library will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm during Ching Ming Festival and Easter holidays.

Media Services, Archives and Special Collections, and all branch libraries will be closed these days.

March 16, 2022 (Wednesday) will be a University holiday. The University Libraries will be closed on that day.

In view of the latest precautionary measures introduced by the Government, the Libraries will reduce the level of services including opening hours and counter hours from Saturday 12 February 2022 onwards.

In light of the latest developments of the COVID-19 in Hong Kong, the University Libraries will reduce opening hours at some of the branch libraries from tomorrow until the end of next week (Friday 11 February).

The University Libraries will be closed at 1:00 pm on 31 January 2022 and closed from 1 to 3 February 2022 during the coming Chinese New Year holidays.

The Main Library Overnight Open Area (Library Corner) and the Yu Chun Keung Medical Library 24-hour Study Room will be closed during the Chinese New Year holidays and will be reopened on 4 February 2022.

The University Libraries will be closed from 24 to 27 December 2021 and 1 January 2022 during the coming Christmas and New Year holidays.

On 21 and 31 December 2021, the Main Library and Branch Libraries will be closed at 5:00pm and 1:00pm respectively.

The Main Library Overnight Open Area (Library Corner) and the Yu Chun Keung Medical Library 24-hour Study Room will remain open for use by CURRENT STAFF and CURRENT STUDENTS ONLY.

𝙊𝙣 𝙖 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠! 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚!

As the assessment period approaches, the Chi Wah Learning Commons, Libraries and self-study rooms can get very crowded. We understand that you may try to save a seat. Still, we ask you to please be considerate of others.

To help you share the space, we are introducing “I am taking a study break” cards during the busy periods - fill out a card, leave it on your desk and take a 30-minute break without needing to clear your belongings. The cards are available at the entrances and service counters of Chi Wah Learning Commons and Libraries and can be used up to six times.

Never leave your valuables unattended.

If you wish to leave for longer than 30 minutes, take all your belongings with you. After 30 minutes, other students will be able to use any vacated space by setting unattended items to one side. Our colleagues may also clear desks that have been left unattended for more than 30 minutes, or that have been left without a completed study-break card.

The cards will be available from Monday 15 November to Friday 17 December 2021 and again in April and May 2022.
