AI adoption isnโ€™t just a technology challenge. Itโ€™s a trust challenge.

At the 11th Belt and Road Summit, Ellen Lau, Executive Director of Preface, joined Sony Han of IBM Consulting Hong Kong and Dr Albert Lam of Fano Labs to explore what it takes to move AI from innovation to implementation.

The conversation went beyond what AI can do, to what it takes to make AI work in the real worldโ€”from the data infrastructure and trust needed for adoption, to the new opportunities and business models emerging across industries.

And for Hong Kong, there is a bigger question: how can we turn our role as a global connector into an advantage in an AI-enabled economy?

Missed the first live Hackathon? Watch what happens next.

What if AI and code could change more than the way you work? What if they could change what you believe is possible?

At Preface Dev Con 2026, Preface alumni and Nomad instructors entered the Hackathon Arena to tackle problems surprisingly close to everyday life.

From deciding what to prepare for dinner, to developing twenty thoughtful questions every day for students, they showed us that better solutions begin with better questions.

This is not simply a competition. It is a new way to see the world.

And it is only the beginning.

A sincere thank you to all the teaching staffs and therapists who joined hands with usโ€”your active participation and insights were instrumental in co-building a tailored AI platform designed specifically to serve your schoolโ€™s unique ecosystem.

By empowering the team with custom bot creation, we are making sure the platform directly addresses real-world, school-specific needs.

The platform will soon be deployed across target departments, taking its first step with various subject departments as our launchpad.
