為發揚尊師重道的優良傳統並培養學生的感恩之心，本校於9月14日順利舉辦「敬師日」主題活動。活動當天校園洋溢著濃厚的溫馨氣氛，各班學生代表親手向默默耕耘的老師們送上精美的敬師心意卡與水果，表達深切謝意。在特別集會中，師生一同回顧過去一年相處的點點滴滴與溫馨片段，感謝老師在知識傳授與品德培育上的無私付出。是次活動不僅拉近了師生距離，更在校園營造尊師重道的良好風氣，為建立融洽的和諧校園奠定堅實基礎。

Teachers' Day Celebration
On 14 September, our school held a heartwarming Teachers' Day celebration to honour our teachers and nurture students' sense of gratitude.
Student representatives from each class presented greeting cards and fruit to their teachers, expressing heartfelt thanks for their quiet, dedicated work throughout the year. At a special assembly, teachers and students recalled treasured moments from the past year, celebrating the bond between them.
The event strengthened our school's culture of respect for teachers and laid a solid foundation for a harmonious school community.

尋求突破！小腦袋大能量！
石籬聖若望天主教小學「腦動Think Big」成長型思維課

今日，全校同學一同參與「成長型思維」課程，主題為「尋求突破 Seeking Breakthrough」。

課堂開始時，同學們跟隨主題曲邊唱邊跳：「Seeking breakthrough, never give up! Reach for the sky!」氣氛即時變得熱鬧歡愉。

老師帶領大家探討「突破」的真正意義：突破不只是把事情做好，更重要的是敢於嘗試新方法、挑戰自己，並超越過去的自己。當中的步驟清晰易明：設定目標、勇敢嘗試、面對困難、學習反思，以及堅持不懈。

課堂中最精彩的環節，莫過於「辦法總比問題多」。同學們圍繞「晚上家中停電怎樣做功課」及「在南極如何賣出短褲」等有趣問題，積極腦震盪，提出許多富有創意的解決方法，黑板上寫滿了大家的點子，笑聲與討論聲此起彼落。此外，同學們還挑戰火柴與硬幣小遊戲。大家一邊思考一邊互相討論，當成功「突破」時，全班報以熱烈掌聲。

透過今次課程，同學們明白到遇到困難時無需害怕，因為「Yes I can!」只要敢於嘗試、勤於練習、善於反思，就能不斷突破自己。

期待同學們在新學年繼續「Seeking Breakthrough」，一起飛得更高、更遠！

Seeking Breakthrough! Big Energy from Little Minds!

Today, all students took part in a Growth Mindset lesson with the theme “Seeking Breakthrough”.

The class began with students singing and dancing along to the theme song: “Seeking breakthrough, never give up! Reach for the sky!” The atmosphere quickly became lively and joyful.

Teachers guided the students to explore the true meaning of “breakthrough”. It is not just about doing well, but about daring to try new methods, challenging ourselves, and surpassing our past selves. The steps are clear and simple: set a goal, try bravely, face difficulties, reflect and learn, and never give up.

The most exciting part of the lesson was the activity “There are always more solutions than problems”. Students brainstormed creative ways to solve fun challenges such as “How to do homework when the power goes out at night” and “How to sell shorts in Antarctica”. The blackboard was soon filled with ideas, and the classroom was full of laughter and discussion. Students also took on matchstick and coin puzzles. Everyone thought hard and discussed together, and when they finally achieved a “breakthrough”, the whole class burst into applause.

Through this lesson, students learnt that there is no need to fear difficulties, because “Yes I can!” As long as we dare to try, practise diligently, and reflect thoughtfully, we can keep breaking through our limits.

We look forward to seeing our students continue “Seeking Breakthrough” in the new school year, and fly higher and further together!

聖若望師生齊上「天宮課堂」--與神舟二十三號乘組天地連線

本校於今日（2026年9月9日）上午安排全校師生實時觀看「天宮課堂・港澳專場」太空授課直播，與正在中國空間站執行任務的神舟二十三號乘組一同上課。

三位航天員在軌擔任「太空教師」，為港澳學生講解航天知識、示範在太空獨特環境下進行的科學實驗，並與地面學生展開天地互動對話。這堂跨越天地的課，讓學生增進航天科學知識、激發探索興趣，更體會到國家航天事業的成就，以及香港青年亦可參與其中、服務國家發展。本校會繼續透過不同學習活動，鼓勵同學建立志向、勇於探索，厚植家國情懷。

聖若望師生祝願神舟二十三號乘組任務順利、平安凱旋！

St. John’s Students and Teachers Join “Tiangong Classroom”— Linking Earth and Space with the Shenzhou-23 Crew

This morning (9th September 2026), our school arranged for all students and teachers to watch the live broadcast of the “Tiangong Classroom · Hong Kong and Macao Special Session,” joining a lesson with the Shenzhou-23 crew now on a mission aboard the China Space Station.

The three astronauts served as “space teachers” in orbit. They explained aerospace science to students in Hong Kong and Macao, demonstrated scientific experiments in the unique environment of space, and held a live space–Earth dialogue. This lesson across heaven and earth helped students deepen their knowledge of aerospace science and sparked their curiosity to explore. It also let them appreciate the achievements of the nation’s space programme, and see that young people from Hong Kong can take part and contribute to national development. Our school will continue to offer learning activities that encourage students to set their sights high, explore with courage, and grow in love of country.

Students and teachers of St. John’s wish the Shenzhou-23 crew a successful mission and a safe return!

Our school successfully held the Prefect Inauguration Ceremony earlier! The new cohort of prefects looked spirited and energetic. 經過悠長的暑假，歡迎大家回到石籬聖若望天主教小學的大家庭！
為了讓同學們逐步「熱身」、適應新學年，學校在一連四天的開學周特別安排了豐富多元的精彩活動。同學們除了認識班上的新同學、參與校本常規訓練外，學校更特別邀請到春天實驗劇團到校演出禁毒劇目《唔take唔買 毒品BYE BYE》及香港戲劇教育工作室演出的《陪我講 Shall We Talk: 超級一家的心事盲盒 》精神健康劇目。
透過生動有趣的互動劇，同學們不僅深化了防罪禁毒的意識，更學習到如何正視成長小煩惱與調節情緒。期望每一位聖若望好孩子都能帶著健康豐盛的身心靈，自信滿滿地迎接嶄新的學年！

Welcome Week
After a long summer holiday, we are delighted to welcome everyone back to the Shek Lei St. John’s Catholic Primary School family!
To help our students gradually warm up and adapt to the new school year, the school arranged a rich and varied programme of activities throughout the four-day Welcome Week. In addition to getting to know their new classmates and taking part in school-based routines and training, students enjoyed two special visiting theatre performances: the anti-drug play 《唔take唔買 毒品BYE BYE》(Don't Take, Don't Buy, Bye Bye Drugs) by Spring-Time Stage Production, and 《陪我講 Shall We Talk: 超級一家的心事盲盒 》(Shall We Talk: The Super Family’s Mystery Box of Worries), a mental-health-themed production presented by the Hong Kong Drama Education Studio.
Through these lively and engaging interactive performances, students not only strengthened their awareness of crime prevention and drug avoidance, but also learnt how to face the small worries that can arise as they grow up and regulate their emotions. We hope that every St. John’s student will begin this brand-new school year with confidence, supported by sound physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

新學年開始啦！今天校長和老師們一早便站在校門口，滿面笑容迎接每一位返校的同學，送上暖暖的歡迎，還有兩份特別禮物：精美書簽和蔥味餅乾！

精美書簽提醒大家要喜愛閱讀、養成好習慣；蔥味餅乾則因為「蔥」諧音「聰」，寓意我們石籬聖若望的小朋友個個聰明伶俐、靈活機智！新一年，希望大家繼續勤力學習、勇敢面對挑戰、樸實做人、誠信待人，實踐「勤勇樸誠」的校訓。

今年學校主題是「尋求突破 Seeking Breakthrough」，讓石籬聖若望天主教小學全體師生，一起加油！我們一起勇敢嘗試、不斷進步，尋求屬於自己的突破！願天主降福！🎉📚✨

The new school year has begun! This morning, our Principal and teachers stood at the school gate with big smiles, warmly welcoming every student back to school and giving out two special gifts: beautiful bookmarks and spring onion-flavoured biscuits!

The beautiful bookmarks remind everyone to love reading and develop good habits. The spring onion-flavoured biscuits play on the similar pronunciation of “spring onion” (蔥) and “smart” (聰) in Chinese, wishing all our Shek Lei St. John’s students to be clever, bright and quick-witted! In this new year, we hope everyone will continue to study hard, face challenges bravely, live simply and act with sincerity, putting our school motto “Diligence, Courage, Simplicity and Integrity” into practice.

This year’s school theme is “尋求突破 Seeking Breakthrough”. All teachers and students of Shek Lei St. John’s Catholic Primary School, let’s go! Let’s be brave to try, keep making progress, and seek our own breakthroughs! May God bless us all! 🎉📚✨
