HK - Day 3: Hong Kong Island bus tour, Central-Mid-Levels v long line of escalators
up a very big hill pass the bars of Soho, the smoky Man Mo Temple and up Victoria Peak. The view was beautiful despite the brooding skies. What a place.

HK - Day 2: Chi Lin Nunnery, Nan Lin Gardens and S*k S*k Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple.
Chi Lin Nunnery was beautiful. We met a very passionate lady who taught the kids how to pray to Buddha in the temple to ask for long term happiness. Alice was quite taken by that. A calm and beautiful place in a busy city.
We learned about ancient architecture of traditional wooden buildings at the gardens and visited the golden pagoda.
We then nearly all roasted to death in a combination of midday sun and incense sticks at the Taoist temple but spotted some turtles swimming with the koi carp that made everyone happy!

Hong Kong - Day 1: exploring Mong Kok at night. It was all floodlit round here so it felt like day light. The kids were a little overwhelmed by their first smells, sights and sounds in this very busy part of HK, as you can see by their faces πŸ˜‚.

We loved the Bayeaux Tapastry. Adding to our work on the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings last year, this time we were getting to grips with the Normans. The kids really enjoyed it.
