The announcement of Viva, the new MS EXP (Employee Experience Platform) is going to be a real game changer and significant threat to the learning management and HR platform providers.

The four key areas of Viva are:
1. Connections App for Teams: where staff (and potentially external clients) can can access internal communications and resources.
2. Viva Learning: content aggregator for internal content, third party content suppliers and linkages to external LMS providers like CSOD or PeopleFluent.
3. Viva Topics: uses AI to connect people to related documents, conversations, videos or experts across the company.
4. Viva Insights: potentially the most powerful component given where we are with remote and online working becoming the norm. A productivity and workplace analytics platform that provides deidentified personalised information that aims to provide a real meaningful balance between productivity and wellbeing.

If MS really can deliver a seamless integrated solution in this hugely fragmented space, as we (almost) all use Office365, Viva may just become the default way we work.

Interesting article on how one 25 year established regional HQ is moving its operations out from HK. For me one of the key lines is "a new shared services centre for the region will be established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia."

This will become an increasing trend as major corporates look to move IT and other data services & solutions out from HK due partly to cost - but primarily from the uncertainty of how the National Security Law may be interpreted under the one country emphasis of the Basic Law.

Apparel group VF Corporation to leave HK for Shanghai and Singapore The first move is expected to take place in April this year with around 900 workers in Hong Kong affected by the update. There is a grace period of 12 days as Adobe will no longer support Flash Player after 31 December 2020 and will block Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning 12 January 2021.

Q. What do I about Adobe Flash end of life?
A. There is nothing we can do. Flash is proprietary technology from Adobe. There’s nothing to install and nothing to turn on or off. When it dies, it dies. You may wish to uninstall Flash from your device but this is not essential.

If you visit a site that still requires Flash after Jan 12, 2020 you have two choices:
1. Stop using that site.
2. Stop using that site & ask the site owner what they suggest you do.
