After a 3-year break due to COVID-19 pandemic APMEU is finally back!!!

After a long wait we are excited to announce that the next APMEU is most likely to take place in HK in April or May next year. Stay tuned!!!

Good news! APMEU 2022 is finally taking shape. We are planning the exercise in a hybrid mode by late may!

Dear All,

we are glad to announce that the APMEU 2020 has been postponed. Thanks to the decision of the EU the current JM Project funding period has been extended by one year - till the end of August 2021.

This means that the APMEU 2020 Final Conference will take place in May 2021 in Christchurch, NZ at the University of Canterbury.

"The European Union said it would limit exports of equipment and technologies to Hong Kong which could be used for surveillance in response to a security law being imposed on the country by China."

Instead of European Parliament, the Council of the European Union issued a set of conclusions considering the effect of national security legislation on the autonomy of Hong Kong and EU-China relations.

Although it may be hard to unite on a position with China, an important trading partner of some EU member states, the move by the Council showed the Council's concern over the restriction of freedoms and the rule of law in Hong Kong.

Cancellation of APMEU 2020!!!
Dear All,

We are very sorry but due to the Coronavirus (COVID19) epidemic and New Zealand Government quarantine decisions, we hereby write to inform you that APMEU 2020, which was supposed to take place in Christchurch on 1st and 2nd of June is CANCELLED!

We feel that the optimal decision is to ask the European Commission for an extension of the current funding period and postpone the APMEU 2020 final conference.

As soon as the circumstances allow, the organizers will contact all participants and respective mentors with rearrangement details.
