🌙 The Story of Hou Yi and Chang'e 🏮

🌞 Long ago, ten hot suns made the Earth too dry and hot. A brave archer named Hou Yi used his bow and arrows to shoot down nine of them, leaving just one friendly sun to help plants grow.

✨ As a reward, Hou Yi was given a magic pill that could make him live in the sky forever. He wanted to stay with his loving wife, Chang'e, so he left the pill at home.

🏠 One day, a sneaky person tried to steal it. To keep it safe, Chang'e swallowed the pill and floated right up to the Moon, where a fluffy Jade Rabbit hopped up to keep her company!
When Hou Yi looked up and saw his wife on the glowing moon, he missed her dearly and left out her favorite sweet treats.

Today, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, we look up at the bright full moon, eat sweet mooncakes, and celebrate family love! ❤️

Fox 🦊

Foxes have big, pointy ears. They can hear a tiny mouse squeak even if it is hiding under the snow!

Most foxes have bright orange fur and look a little bit like cute, friendly dogs with pointy faces.

Foxes have long, fluffy tails that keep them warm like a cozy blanket when they sleep outside.

Foxes are great at jumping high into the air to catch their food, almost like they are bouncing on a trampoline.

Skunk 🦨

Skunks are best known for making a very, very stinky smell to protect themselves! 👃

Skunks have thick black and white fur.

Skunks have long, sharp claws on their feet that help them dig holes in the dirt to find yummy bugs to eat. 😋

Skunks are nocturnal, which means they sleep all through the day and wake up to look for food at night. 💤

🤣 Fun Fact: Before a skunk uses its stinky spray, it will stomp its little feet on the ground and do a funny handstand to warn you to back up!

🏮 Say Hello to the bright moon: 🌙

A long, long time ago, people looked up at the big, round moon in the autumn sky and wanted to join in its bright glow.

Lighting lanterns is a fun way to share that bright, happy light right here on earth! 🌍
