jk & 𝒋𝒖𝒏𝒆 stopped saying it and actually did it with our "with a friend" program.

Lessons together. Practice together. DJ sleepovers when life got busy ❤️

And then — two individual sets at Sonic Kitchen, each with her friend right there supporting her. 🎧

Our first 2-on-1 Accelerator student journey. 🫶

Most people think DJ schools are strictly built for house and techno, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

When Vanessa first came in, she made it clear she was here for raw 2000s NYC Hip-Hop. Watching her work 1-on-1 with Brandon completely blew our mind.
She locked in her cuts, learned to scratch, and brought that authentic New York flavor straight to her Sonic Kitchen sets with pure confidence 🔥

If you’ve been holding back because you play Hip-Hop or don't know where to start—this is your sign to step up.

V. Shum/DJ Badass Shum thank you for bringing the absolute best energy to the booth every single time. Proud of how far you’ve come and excited about your next performance at Mixtape!

We all need an outlet away from the daily noise—a place to create, play, and just be.

Music brings us back to ourselves, but community is where we truly flourish. Sonic Kitchen is our safe space where students step out of the studio booth and onto the stage—backed by a crowd that’s cheering them on every step of the way. No pressure to go pro, no rigid rules—just everyday people making space for fun and shared sound.

Curious to see what your own creative escape could look like?
