⚽🌍 The excitement of the World Cup has officially begun!

To celebrate the spirit of the beautiful game, our students and staff came to school proudly wearing the colours and jerseys of their favourite teams. The campus was filled with energy, excitement, and friendly football conversations throughout the day. 🎉

A huge thank you to our PTA parents for providing delicious ice cream and popcorn, allowing students to enjoy their favourite treats while gathering with friends to watch the matches in our dedicated viewing room during recess and lunchtime. 🍿🍦

Special thanks also to our teachers and Grade 6 students for organising football-themed activity stalls. After watching the games, students had the opportunity to put their skills into action, participate in football challenges, and share in the excitement together. ⚽✨

Most importantly, thank you to every student, teacher, parent, and staff member who helped create such a memorable day. Your enthusiasm and school spirit made the celebration truly special.

At HKCA Po Leung K*k School, we believe that sports are about much more than competition. Through physical activity, students develop resilience, teamwork, communication skills, self-management, and respect for others—qualities that align closely with the IB Learner Profile and support lifelong learning.

Because some of the most meaningful lessons happen both inside and outside the classroom. 🌱💛

During Chinese class, our G2 students read the picture book Let‘s Get Some Mung Beans, Mama! To make meaningful connections with the story, they explored the same experiences as the main character. They observed different types of beans, soaked green beans in water, cooked green bean soup, tasted it, and even made green bean popsicles. Meanwhile, in their homeroom unit ”Sharing the Planet,“ students were learning about the natural resources that plants need. In Chinese class, they applied this knowledge by planting green beans—watering them daily, watching them sprout, seeing them grow taller, and adding soil to support their growth. Over these three weeks, students connected deeply with the story, became risk-takers by trying new foods, learned to describe procedures using sequence words, and understood the concept of change by observing their plants grow. What a meaningful learning journey for these young learners.
