On May 13, our Year 8 students were off-timetable for an immersive STEM Day focused on a critical local challenge: safeguarding Hong Kong against super typhoons and severe rainstorms.
Working in their House groups, students took on five hands-on challenges designed to push both their technical and analytical skills to the limit—engineering solutions to help transport water, evaluating how desiccants protect electronics, building AI models for flood mitigation, and completing specialist lab work to investigate water-borne bacteria.
Throughout the day, integrated math challenges kept the competitive spirit strong, and the energy in each House highlighted impressive collaboration, creativity, and teamwork.
This was a House competition, and the winners were announced in this week’s celebration assembly—a huge congratulations to all participants!

Our highlight was whole school dress-up day on Friday, April 24th, where students dressed as their favourite book characters, and teachers joined the Teacher Dress Parade Competition—with the Science Department winning for their adaptation of Dune.

On April 17th, our Year 12 students were off timetable to complete the practical data collection for their Physics and Biology Internal Assessments. This dedicated time allowed students to focus entirely on the experimental element of their research. The day was highly productive and students worked efficiently to gather their findings. They will now move on to analysing their data and writing up their final results during their scheduled lessons. Well done to Year 12 for their efficient and focused work throughout the day!
