Zest Quest Asia A competition for student chefs and colleges daring to be the best in Asian cuisine. We attract entries from ambitious & forward-looking colleges across the UK.

Winning teams have visited India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and the Philippines. Zest Quest Asia was founded by London based restaurateurs Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala in 2013 in collaboration with the Masterchefs of Great Britain. Their aim was to create an exciting culinary competition that would help raise the profile of Asian cuisine and cookery as a future career for budding chefs in Britain. A groundbreaking step towards battling the growing skills shortage in the UK’s professional Asian kitchens, one of its goals is to embed classical Asian cookery in the school and college curriculum. So far, 7 colleges represented by a team of 3 and their tutor have won the Zest Quest Asia title, beating other finalists at a cook off and knowledge presentation. Each year the winners enjoy at least a week in an exciting Asian culinary capital. In 2022, The Sheffield College visited 'Sugarlandia' (Negros Occidental) in the Philippines, sponsored by Don Papa Rum.
