We provide English language support to The University of Hong Kong community. CAES also engages in outreach as a way of contributing to the community.
We provide English language support courses for all undergraduate students of the university, and thesis writing and academic English support for postgraduate students. We also provide an extensive range of self-access learning opportunities and summer intensive courses. In collaboration with the HKU Summer Institute, CAES (SFEC) organized SFEC9301 from 6β10 July 2026. The programme is designed to enhance secondary school studentsβ speaking abilities across a range of contexts. It covers key areas such as pronunciation, helping participants improve clarity, build confidence in speaking, and develop more natural communication skills.
Positive feedback from students upon completion of the programme:
β’ It offers me an opportunity to practice speaking in realistic scenarios and receive constructive feedback.
β’ When we finished the presentation as a team, I have learned a great deal. Apart from Englishβspeaking skills, I also understand how to cooperate with teammates.
β’ Everyone is sooo nice and the course was really useful.
