The 6th Postgraduate Student Forum The Research on the Social Integration of the Non-local Married Ethnic Women: Taking G County of Jiangsu Province for Example

The next Wednesday cinema night screening is "La source des femmes" ('The Source', 女人之源). This comic-drama is set in a small village in Morocco, where local women wish to urge their husbands to fix the village's shortage in water supply. In order to do so, the women initiate a 'love strike', an ultimate provocation of men dominance. The film blends laughter with despair and asks in which ways can women literacy and empowerment grow in accord with traditional religion. Great acting!

This time we invite a guest who has rich experience about LGBT and Feminism movements in Greater China. She will give a brief introduction of the contemporary LGBT movements in Mainland China. Any questions, doubts and discussions relating to LGBT and Feminism movements, the LGBT community in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, or other gender and sexuality issues are welcomed after the introduction. Besides, you are always welcomed to drop in, grab a drink and chat with your friends!

Anthropology Wednesday Movie Night: Huayao Bride in Shangri-la

Come to enjoy a lovely movie and meet with our anthropology buddies! The first Wednesday movie night will be showing the Chinese movie "Huayao Bride in Shangri-la（花腰新娘）". The film is about a love story taking place in the Yi tribe in Yunnan province, full with Yi customs and beautiful sceneries. You may have reflections on whether the Yi community is exoticized or just have a good laugh!

Note: light beverage provided, but no disposable cups for environmental reasons.
Please bring your own mug and any snacks you want to share!

Hi guys! Tomorrow from 18:00 to 21:00 is our first Wednesday Lounge time. It is held in the Si Yuan Amenities Centre in United College (the marked place in the map). PSSAD invites every postgraduate student come to sit, drink, eat, chat with your schoolmates. This is a very casual meeting, the most important thing there is having fun, and you can come and leave whenever you want flexibly. It is a great time for you to relax after your first paper.
