In February, IBCE students participated in the 2017 Global Business Forum!

A full day of speakers from industry leaders at Microsoft, McKinsey, Bain, Thomson Reuters, and DBS all addressed the topic of 'Transforming Global Challenges into Opportunities', and students were able to pose questions and sharing to their perspectives.

The speaker series was followed by a seminar series from LinkedIn and FranklinCovey, as well as a panel of entrepreneurs currently navigating the startup ecosystem of greater China.

This event also lent USC students the opportunity to collaborate with other Global Business Program students from UNC-Chapel Hill and Copenhagen Business School, along with reconnecting with their wonderful Chinese University of Hong Kong counterparts.

Becoming a global business citizen takes hard work and a spirit of responsibility, and IBCE students are making strides to achieve these great heights! Less than 3 months left for Batch 7 in Hong Kong.

To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival (a Chinese traditional holiday which is similar to American Thanksgiving), one of our Bath 7 captains from the CUHK side, Heather, invited all of the Batch 7 USC students to come enjoy a homemade feast made by her mother! The Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally celebrated by being together with friends and family, and it looks like the Batch 7 IBCErs did just that!

Batch 7 took full advantage of their August break and spent time traveling the globe. Looking ahead, the USC students join their CUHK counterparts this week for their Orientation trip to Guiyang, China, one of the country's fastest growing cities for business and development. Check out some of their post-summer adventures!

Batch 7's summer Mandarin program is winding down to a close in just one week! To celebrate (and relax before the finals begin), one of the students' 老师 took a group of them to a nearby island, Tung Ping Chau, for a day filled with hiking, swimming, laughter, bee-stings, (off-key) singing, and much, much more! While the sunburns and bee stings may fade, the memories from this day definitely will not! It's incredible how fast the summer flew by, but as each of the students from Batch 7 are gearing up to head out in different directions during their 18 days off, it is impossible not to see how this first summer abroad has served as an unforgettable start to their Hong Kong adventure.

So much to do, so much to see, so much exploring to be had!! Week 2 is winding down to a close for Batch 7, but so much has been done already. Check out how a couple of Batch 7's explored the beautiful waterways & islands around Sai Kung. What a great way to spend a day off of classes in observance of the famous Dragon Day Festival!

After spending the day exploring (mainly getting lost) on the way to what they thought was going to be a day spent hiking, these IBCE'rs decided to spend the day exploring the famous seaside culture found in the pier-studded waterways of Sai Kung Town, instead. After taking a quick boat ride over to Sharp Island, the group (along with a familiar Batch 5 face❤️) got to see a glimpse of the breathtaking, natural beauty that Hong Kong is famous for.

Second week down, only a million more places to explore!!

IBCE Batch 7 members are hitting the ground running in their opening weeks in Hong Kong!

Teaming up with students from 2 other universities, the CUHK Society of Business Administration took part in a 3-day conference presented by Deutsche Bank to discuss both global and local economic issues.

Later, Batch 7 met up with a couple of Batch 6 "locals" to get acquainted with and explore the city. And there's only more to come!

Week 1 is in the books for the 7th class of IBCE scholars!
