HSF Computational Law e-Mooting Competition- All LLB, JD and Combined Degree Students Welcome to Apply!

Calling all passionate mooters!

Are you passionate about mooting? Do you enjoy challenging yourself? Do you have an interest in computational law (blockchain, artificial intelligence, data governance, and so on)?

If you said yes to ANY of the above, make sure to consider signing up for the annual HSF Computational Law e-Mooting Competition! Take the chance to be mentored by Oxford and Cambridge mooting coaches!

With the Hong Kong Department of Justice promoting online dispute resolution, this competition would be a great chance for you to practice key skills needed for the technological shift taking over the legal field. We need YOU to represent HKU!

Honoured for the Lite Lab to be nominated for the
World Commerce & Contracting Innovation & Excellence Awards 2021 (WCCA) and passing as the finalists under the Outstanding Cooperation and Collaboration category!

LITE Lab@HKU as an interdisciplinary and experiential programme whose Lawtech & Regtech Sandbox invites organisations to co-design proof-of-concept solutions with our students to solve their real-world problems.

Collaborating with FedEx Express's multi-jurisdictional legal department in a win-win proposition, LITE Lab's students learn invaluable design thinking, project management and tech skills while addressing the corporate bottleneck due to time, budgetary and human resources constraints by using already licensed Microsoft no/low code automation tools to improve clients' accessibility, enhance the inhouse team's efficiency and obtain data-driven insights.

The virtual awards ceremony will be held on 1st December, 2021. Stay tune on updates on how LITE Lab's performs on the WCCA!

FinTech Association of Hong Kong Launches Green Finance and RegTech White Paper

The FinTech Association of Hong Kong has today launched a new white paper, “Our Changing Climate: Applying RegTech to Green Finance” in conjunction with the LITE Lab@HKU. The report has been released to coincide with Hong Kong FinTech Week 2021 and COP26 - UN Climate Change Conference and aims to help demystify the ESG and sustainable finance landscape at a critical time for financial services.

The paper also examines regulatory development trends in ESG, in particular how ESG fosters technology innovations.
