HKU School of Innovation HKU School of Innovation (I-School) is pleased to announce it will host the “HKU School of Innovation Inaugural Celebration: A Dialogue with Future Innovators,” on 9 May 2026 (Saturday) at Rayson Huang Theatre!

Bringing together University leaders, industry representatives, and student innovators, the event will celebrate the I-School’s first year and explore the future of innovation and technology talent development in Hong Kong and beyond.

Speakers include:
Professor Xiang Zhang, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKU;
Mr. Terry Wong, CEO of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP)；
Professor James Tang, Secretary-General of the University Grants Committee (UGC)；
Professor Hayden So, Director of the School of Innovation

The celebration will continue with two thematic panel discussions: one on “Nurturing Innovation & Technology Talents for the Future” and another titled “Conversation with Future Innovators,” featuring dialogue with I-School students on their aspirations and learning journeys.

香港大學創新學院（I-School）欣然宣布，將於 2026 年 5 月 9 日（星期六）假黃麗松講堂舉行「香港大學創新學院成立慶典：與未來創新者對話」活動！
是次活動將匯聚大學領導、業界代表及學生創新者，一同慶祝 I-School 成立一周年，並探討香港以至區內在創新及科技人才培育方面的未來發展。

主講嘉賓包括：
港大校長張翔教授；
香港科技園公司行政總裁黃秉修先生；
大學教育資助委員會秘書長鄧特抗教授；
港大創新學院院長蘇國希教授。

慶祝活動其後將設兩場主題座談會：第一場以「培育未來創科人才」為題，探討未來創新及科技人才的培育；第二場為「與未來創新者對談」，由 I-School 學生分享其抱負與學習歷程。

Out of the 51 HKU fine subject areas ranked, 29 rank among the global top 50, with eight securing places in the top 20. These include Dentistry (2nd), Education & Training (5th), Geography (11th), Architecture and Built Environment (14th), Library & Information Management (15th), Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (18th), Law & Legal Studies (20th), and Civil & Structural Engineering (20th).

Fascinated by black holes, exoplanets, and the mysteries of the universe? 🔭✨ Join us this summer for ”Introduction to Modern Observational Astronomy“, an exciting face-to-face programme offered under the HKU Summer Institute. Organised by our academic staff from the Department of Physics, this immersive experience lets you explore Nobel Prize-winning discoveries, view celestial objects through telescopes, and learn how to create colour renditions of astronomical images!
